Word for the Day: Saturday, December 31, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. How this fits in with Salvation depends on what is being "expanded". If we are talking about Spiritual Expansion, everything fits well. But if we are discussing "expansion, around the middle of the body, due to delicious food", things get a bit more complex. Be careful, folks!

Friday, December 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, December 30, 2016

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. Trusting that our lives are "salvageable", may be an "early stepping stone", on the path to "Personal Salvation". And I have Faith in this process.

Thursday, December 29, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, December 29, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. And I have extreme gratitude for all experiences, of Salvation in this lifetime. In addition, I am grateful, for all the friends I have picked up along the way, whether Facebook Friends, people I know in person, or both. I am eternally Grateful. Thanks!

Wednesday, December 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. There are two Connotations for this Word. In my opinion, one works well, but the other, not so much. So when we have Equal Opportunity, anybody can make it in the world, if they work at it, and opportunities present themselves. But the "flip side" of Equality, which I like to call "Forced Conformity", is simply a way to control other people. At its best, those who "follow the rules" might survive, at least for a while. At its worst, everybody loses.

Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 27, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence. Prudent Salvation? Sounds good to me! Now, remember that Prudence is, simply being "wise, in practical affairs". And remember, you can do this, without going overboard, and perhaps being labeled as a "prude".

Monday, December 26, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, December 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence. Salvaging the Innocent? (or) The Innocence of Salvation? So where does Guilt come in? Because those are the people, needing salvation. And, finally, my favorite? The Innocence of children.

Sunday, December 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, December 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness. Let's see: "Forgive the way I salvaged myself"? "Salvation through Forgiveness"? Now I have heard the second one used before, though not too frequently. There are, of course religious connotations, including in the Christmas Story, as told in the New Testament of the Judeo Christian Bible.

Weekly Themes: Week of December 25-31, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Salvage and Salvation.  These are, of course related words, but I was interested in finding the differences.  According to Wikdiff, Salvage is about "things", such as salvaging a boat, after it sinks.  But Salvation is more "personal", such as being "saved from Hell".  However, I have heard "salvage" used with people also, such as salvaging an actor's career from obscurity, by getting a part in a popular movie.  Now let's see how this works, with all the Words for this Week!

Saturday, December 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, December 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Authenticity. So what do we have for today? An "Authentic Addiction? (As opposed to a "Counterfeit Addiction"?)

One thing that bothers me, is why these Human Bodies don't come with Certificates of Authenticity (like those "Limited Edition Plates" do?) But one thing, you are always free to do, is to be Authentic to Yourself. And I wish you all the best, in these Holiday Seasons!

Friday, December 23, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, December 23, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. So, are we Addicted to Interpreters? Or are we doing our best to Interpret what Addiction means, in this world? Personally, I vote for the second! In general, I recommend Interpreter, as a Career Path. Depending on the details, it can come with travel, and the ability to get to know people all over the world.

Thursday, December 22, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, December 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. And yes, Addictive Behavior is often found, in social environments. For example, Cocktail Lounges (aka Bars) exist, mainly for people to drink alcoholic beverages together. Some, who attend these types of places use moderation, bot others are addicted. Unless they (the "addicted ones") behave badly, it may be hard to tell the difference.

Wednesday, December 21, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration. Once again, we're not suggesting that people "concentrate on Addiction". That said, concentration on solutions to Addiction is a different thing. So once again, good luck!

Tuesday, December 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. Acceptable Addiction? (Is there such a thing?) Okay, I know we all "might" be "addicted to water", because if we stop drinking it, "cold turkey", we "will likely" develop strong symptoms, and may *Die*! But seriously, the way towards Acceptability is to develop, and maintain a balanced life. And good luck!

Monday, December 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, December 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. I know what this Word/Theme combination *looks* like, but I think I'd prefer being generous with ways to bring an Addictive life into balance. For example, there could be underlying issues, that could "inspire" addictive behavior. Also, temptation and "peer pressure" can certainly play a role. But a business tool, called a "Cost Benefit Analysis" can easily show why the Addictive behavior, or substance may not be a good idea at all. Be careful.

Sunday, December 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, December 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. And no, I don't believe this means that we "should" share our Addictions! But sharing what we do, to bring them under control can be quite beneficial, under certain circumstances.

Weekly Theme: Week of December 18-24, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Addiction.  When looking for a good definition, I first went to Google, only to find a derivative of the word itself (addicted), in the attempt to define it.  Oh well.  At least, Wikipedia has a good page on Addiction, from which I get that it is, "compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli", either from a substance, a behavior, or both.  Addictions can be psychological or physical.  For example, if addicted to Heroin, a person can get seriously ill, with violent symptoms, if he/she stops taking it.  Good luck!

Saturday, December 17, 2016

Words for the Day: Saturday, December 17, 2016

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. These, quite "Simply" [referring to our Theme], define the "big picture" view of whatever you're examining. In my opinion, it is important for anybody, who is either working for a company, or taking a class, to know the big picture of the topic, or job at hand. My personal experiences, in both situations, strongly suggest that not everybody shares my view!

Friday, December 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, December 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. A Simple Reflection? Or how about Reflecting on the topic of Simplicity? Though Reflection is a good topic of its own. Like do you know that anybody around you are capable of being a mirror to you? In other words, if the behavior of someone around you angers you, it might be worth while to look closely within yourself, to see if you exhibit that same behavior. And good luck!

Thursday, December 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, December 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. A study of Simplification? Simple Study? Well, it *is* simpler, if you major in the topic you have most been interested in, when you were a kid! (In my case, I was interested in Insects. So, in my Sophomore Year of High School, I (through my parents) asked for a particular Biology Teacher, who specialized (in his "spare time") in Entomology. It Worked!!! (And I got All "A's" in his class!) In general, it's best to devote your time, studying topics you are interested in. Simple?

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. In one way, this is the easiest way to learn. For example, I've heard good reviews of the "Immersion Method" of teaching other languages. This is where you learn, just by being with people, speaking the language. I saw a movie yesterday, Arrival, where this was exactly the way they were able to figure out the language of the race, who came to Earth. Highly recommended, by the way.

Tuesday, December 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 13, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review. A Review of Simplification? A Simple Review? In the second case, it's a reminder that Reviews don't need to be a big task: For example, you could do a simple review of your shopping list, to see if you missed anything, before leaving the store. That does not mean that *all* reviews are simple, as reviewing college course material say, before an examination can be a large task.

Monday, December 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, December 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation. Experiments in Simplification? Or Simple Experiments? Both exist, of course. In my opinion, experimentation is an important part of living, because living "by rote" could get quite boring. Just watch out for dangerous, as well as unnecessary risks!

Sunday, December 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, December 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition, Recognition of Simplification? Simple Recognition? Or just to Simply Recognize? Lots of combinations here. But recognizing ways to simplify my life has personally helped me because, for multiple years, I was overbooked, to the point where I not only had no time to have fun, but almost no time to even think. Good luck, folks!

Weekly Theme: Week of December 11-17-2016

The Theme for this Week is Simplification.  When I asked Google what this means, I got a surprise:  I was reminded of its use, in higher mathematics.  For example, "simplification of a fraction to an irreducible fraction".  But in general, Simplify means to "make easier", though I will comment that "simple" does not always equate to "easy".  For example, knowing that clearing up your financial situation is as "simple" as getting out of debt, doesn't necessarily make it easy to do so.  But one act I can personally recommend, is to "simplify your life" by, for example, removing "unnecessary" events from your schedule.

Saturday, December 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, December 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. I had to think, about how to use our Word and Theme together in a sentence, and figured out a way, to use both the Noun and Verb version of Resolve, with Sacrifice: "I Resolve to not Sacrifice my Resolve". :-)

One thing to keep in mind, especially since we approach the end of a year: Resolutions can be made anytime, not just at the New Year. But consider that it's more important to make a few of them, and keep them, than to make a lot of them, and break the majority of them.

Friday, December 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, December 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage. I think we widely agree that it's not a good idea to "Sacrifice our Courage". But this works well in the other direction, because it takes courage, to know when sacrifice is appropriate, especially if other people might disagree with you. And one thing to watch out for: There is a "negative pole" word, sometimes equated to courage: Foolhardiness. It is good to know the difference!

Thursday, December 8, 2016

Words for the Day: Thursday, December 8, 2016

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. Once again, I don't like the combination with Theme in one direction: "Sacrificing our Strength and Empowerment" is something I hear about, with one side of a Relationship (either romantic or, say, employment related), where that person completely capitulates to the other side, whether a spouse, or his/her boss at work.

The way I think the combination works, is if we have the Strength and Empowerment, to conduct ourselves, in a condition, where we DO need to sacrifice something (i.e. money, time, or letting a valued relationship go). The strength allows us to recover easier.

Wednesday, December 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. Sacrificing Competence? (For what??!!) Or how about "the Competence to Sacrifice effectively, including knowing when it is appropriate to do so"? I've mentioned this before, but a reminder that there is a great book, on the topic of Competence, called "The Peter Principle", by Lawrence J. Peter.

Tuesday, December 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. Sacrifice of Endurance, or Endurance of (many) Sacrifices? One personal note: Today, so far, feels like I have lived (endured) at least 2 or 3 days of "Life Experience", including a Dentist Appointment this morning.

Word for the Day: Monday, December 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. So, are we to sacrifice ourselves, for fertility? Or sacrifice fertility itself? (And yes, some think they wouldn't want to subject their kids to, what we are experiencing now).

Sunday, December 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, December 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability. Sacrifice Stability (for, say, adventure? Has occurred before, including in my life). Sacrifice being easier, because of a Stable Environment? Also possible. So let's see how this Theme works, this week.

Weekly Theme: Week of December 4-10, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Sacrifice.  So what does it really mean to Sacrifice?  It can be anything, from sacrificing a few dollars, to pay for the lunch of a friend, to sacrificing your life by, for example, saving someone from a burning building.  Note that, when I looked up Sacrifice on Google, I got religious meanings, including "an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a divine or supernatural figure".  Oh well!

Saturday, December 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, December 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. Is this about a Prophecy, about how to release yourself from limitations? That's the best way I can see, to combine our Theme, with today's Word. So how many of these Prophecies are out there?

Friday, December 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, December 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. "I Aspire to provide the best Prophecies I possibly can". And, of course, one step, in that direction, is to understand enough, about the nature of Time, to know better than to consider there only to be one version of the future.

Thursday, December 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, December 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. Wow! There is lots of it in the news right now: Definitely the cure for Boredom. The problem? A lot of people are anxious about what a world would look and feel like, with the current US Election results. Prophecies? Certainly possible, but beware of the Time Storms that might accompany "normal" Thunderstorms. You might suddenly find yourself in a reality that you are pretty sure you don't belong to. (I've counseled two Homeless people in Chapel Hill, NC and a co-worker in the Eye Blink Universe, in Seattle, counseled others in Seattle, who believe they suffered from this).

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, November 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability. A synonym of this is Flexibility, and I consider a Flexible Prophecy to be the best kind. (I've said this before, but consider it worth repeating: "A Flexible person adapts to his/her surroundings. An Inflexible person 'requests' that his/her surroundings adapt to him/her"!)

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

Words for the Day: Tuesday, November 29, 2016

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. An Agile Prophecy about Grace? Why not? And if you are looking for tools, for developing agility and grace, I recommend Yoga.

Monday, November 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, November 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. Prophecies about Acceleration? Accelerated Prophecy? Both? Well, I can make a "prophecy": If you accelerate in an excessive manner, say in a motor vehicle, you may not like the results!

Sunday, November 27, 2016

Words for the Day: Sunday, November 27, 2016

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance. And, especially with philosophies, dealing with multiple "versions" of events, you need patience, to cut through all of this, to find what is "most likely" to occur, and to describe it to others. In addition, you need to tolerate the "versions" of events, which *do* show up in your life.

Weekly Theme: Week of 11/27 - 12/03/2016

The Theme for this Week is Prophecy.  So what is a Prophecy?  Google simply calls it, "a Prediction".  But note that I, when I began this post, misspelled it to "Prophesy", a verb, which means to "say that (a specified thing) will happen in the future".  Now, in the Michael Teachings, as well as the Seth Material and versions of Quantum Physics, what is the Prophecy?  Just one version of the intending "future event".  For how can you prophesy "the" future event, if there are multiple versions of it?  (And how does it look, to those who do not "believe" any of these "multiple world" models?  Simply, that the prophecy was wrong!)

Saturday, November 26, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, November 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. To conclude this week's Theme, Acknowledge those, who help you to compensate for any disabilities, whether small or large, that you may contend with. (No disabilities? Then your "disability" is being too "ordinary". LOL!) One final comment: It takes knowledge to acknowledge.

Friday, November 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, November 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. And of course, we need to be Kind to people, who are challenged with disabilities. But don't stop there: Be kind to all of those around you, in whatever way is appropriate (even to "small things" like, for example, making it easier for somebody to walk past you, on the sidewalk).

Thursday, November 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, November 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. Encouraging Disabilities? No! (People have enough problems with the different kinds of disabilities *without* encouragement!) However, we *can* encourage people, with disabilities to create the best lives they can for themselves (whether it's by "overcoming" the disability, which certainly is possible in many cases, or simply compensating, by concentrating on what *does* work, in his/her life).

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, November 23, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. And yes, it's always good to be thoughtful to those, who are challenged by disabilities. So what does that mean? In some cases, it simply means treating him/her as a normal human being, instead of concentrating on, what makes him/her different! That said, thoughtfulness in general (which simply means thinking, before speaking and/or acting) is a good trait to show in the world.

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, November 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. Disabled Support? (Hope not). Supporting Disability? (Also no). Supporting people, as well as organizations, regarding Disabilities? Yes. Depending on the disability, some people literally cannot get around, without a Support Network. And, if you join the network for other people, you may be surprised, to find your own Support Networks. (Funny how that works!)

Monday, November 21, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, November 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. A Comfortable Disability? Be careful, because those two words don't usually mix well. Providing Comfort for those, with Disabilities? Certainly! It should be the foundation of care givers, to provide comfort to people under their care.

Sunday, November 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, November 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. Disabled Nourishment? (Well, I guess some might consider the inability to cook food, a disability). But what I believe is better, is GOOD Nourishment, for people, with disabilities. (And in some cases, a poor diet might have even BEEN the cause of the disability, and getting "proper Nourishment" might counter it!)

Weekly Theme: Week of November 20-26, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Disability.  So what's a disability?  According to Google, it's "a physical or mental condition that limits a person's movements, senses, or activities".  One thing to note, is how many ways, people report being disabled.  Usually, people think of it, from the point of view of what prevents a person from being gainfully employed.  So, does that mean that "laziness" is a disability?  :-)

Life on Earth, includes a concept that people "usually" agree on, at least in some form or another, known as Time.  But there are enough issues with Time, that there is a surprisingly involved Wikipedia Article on it!  But my point, before I spent "time" reading Wikipedia, was that Life on Earth includes "looking and feeling" different, depending on how many years have passed, since your birth.  Until we learn to competently time travel, there are two things people on Earth typically "look forward to":  "Getting old", and, eventually "Dying".  Getting back to our topic, dying is a special type of Disability.  Like for example, how gainfully employed would a dead person expect to be? But "getting old" is a different story, because different people age in different ways.  One example, of people not considering themselves disabled, just because they are old, comes from an article, about Elderly People, running in the Boston Marathon.

So I leave it here.  Comments are welcome.

Saturday, November 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, November 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. And, in my opinion, Diplomacy can, if approached correctly, be quite a Prosperous Career: Not only can the job itself be interesting, but the function is quite important, as I've been sharing, through this week.

Friday, November 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, November 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. Diplomacy, to Liberate oneself (say, from war)? Or Liberation FROM Diplomacy? (I hope not!) I like the first one, because Diplomacy *can* be a tool, to "liberate" yourself from some kinds of issues. (It's often called, "talking yourself out of trouble").

Thursday, November 17, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, November 17, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom. And yes, a Wise Diplomat is the best kind!

So how does one develop Wisdom? Good study, including reading of "good books", as well as the attendance of great "Weekend Workshops" make a significant difference, but don't forget that much of the Wisdom, anybody develops, comes from Cold, Hard Life Experience. There are no shortcuts, my friends!

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, November 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. An Impartial Diplomat? That would, of course, be the best kind, in the long run. However, we are human, with our own opinions, so "pure impartiality" is out of the question. So what *can* one do, who is preparing for a career, in the Diplomatic Corps? Go as far as is practical, of course, while being pragmatic (especially when determining which countries you might be interested in, to become a diplomat. For example, if you plan to mediate a civil war, make sure you come from a background, that is respected by both sides).

Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, November 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. Are there consequences to Diplomacy? Certainly, but there also are consequences, to the *Absence* of Diplomacy! And I'll leave it to you, to figure out which consequences are more severe.

Monday, November 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, November 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination. Eliminate Diplomacy? Please no! But you can certainly eliminate things, which stand in the way of Diplomacy, such as war.

Sunday, November 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, November 13, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. Since a Diplomat often acts, by him/herself, self-reliance is a wonderful trait to have. Not the only one, of course; I consider the ability to listen important, as well. But don't always expect help from outside, when busy on an assignment.

Weekly Theme: Week of November 13-19, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Diplomacy.  Now, three weeks ago, we had Mediation as a Theme.  What's the difference?  This is interesting:  When I put "diplomacy vs mediation" into Google, it doesn't like it, preferring "diplomacy AND mediation"!  When we take them individually, we get "the profession ... of managing international relations", for Diplomacy, yet "intervention in a dispute in order to resolve it", for Mediation.  In other words, similar, but not the same.  (Another way of looking at it:  Diplomacy is about the person, taking the action, whereas Mediation deals with the action being taken).

That said, both Themes denote careers, that make sense.

Saturday, November 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, November 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. Expanded Dialogue? If it means better communication (which Intercourse also means, above all), this can be beneficial to a relationship. But watch out for today's word, because excessive Expansion, around the middle of the human body (say, due to eating lots of delicious food), can wind up feeling (as well as looking) bad.

Friday, November 11, 2016

Word for the day: Friday. November 11, 2016

he Words for today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. These are extremely important Words. Never forget that Trust must be earned, and can be breached. And faith must never be blind! We still have the Universe to trust, and we can have faith, that our Earth will still be here tomorrow morning.

Thursday, November 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, November 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. Now this might be, "just a tad bit harder" to find, at this time, after a "United States Mass Event" last Tuesday. But what I am thankful for, is the *Insight* I have received, regarding the details, of that Mass Event. In fact, expect a post, on another BLOG, with Analysis of that event, from the point of view of a major "Reality Split".

Wednesday, November 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, November 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. Equal Dialogue? The only kind to have, in my opinion. But be careful of a different meaning of Equality: Forced Conformity. Careful dialogue might be the answer to all of this, by the way.

Tuesday, November 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, November 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence. First off, what a wonderful Word to have, on an Election day! Also (shades of yesterday), Prudent dialogue makes for excellent Intercourse, whether Social, Sexual, or whatever other word usages exist.

Monday, November 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, November 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence. Innocent Dialogue? That then turns into Intercourse? Isn't *that* the story of many people's lives? So this particular week may have some "pitfalls", for those, who are run, by their hormones. Be careful to put balance into your life.

Sunday, November 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, November 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness. So, do we ask forgiveness, if we DO, or do NOT communicate well? Because that's all that these Themes really mean. Just be careful, folks, because some "statements" are hard to take back!

Weekly Themes: Week of November 6-12, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Intercourse and Dialogue.  Now, just about anybody could hold a dialogue, with another person.  But it takes a special sort of relationship, before "Intercourse" is a "dialogue technique"  But before we close down this topic, perhaps, we should take a gander at, what Google thinks, of a topic, called "Social Intercourse".  Because this is a place, where online definitions fall a bit short.  They get the "Communication" part okay, but what sort of communication?  The kind you would expect, in an Orgy?  Regardless of all of "this", may all of your Dialogues be constructive ones.

Saturday, November 5, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, November 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Authenticity. So, do the jokes you say, come with Certificates of Authenticity? What would that entail, anyway? Does the joke come from your heart? Does it show off your *own* authentic self? Or is it something, that can easily be looked up, on Google, showing that it is authentic *for* *someone* *else*? Now, all that said, does your *body* come with a Certificate of Authenticity?

Friday, November 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, November 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. So how *do* you interpret humor? If you figure that out, you might well become rich and famous! And yes, there could be something, in the other direction, where people joke about interpreters, especially ones that do the job poorly. (For example, have you ever had to assemble a bicycle? How about with instructions, translated from Chinese or Japanese?)

Thursday, November 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, November 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. Humorous Socialization? Or how about Socialization, in the NAME of Humor? And yes, Comedy Clubs are great places, to get together and socialize!

Wednesday, November 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, November 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration. Concentrating on Humor? Or Concentrated Humor? (Just add water!) Both could work, and I hope all of you have pleasant, and friendly encounters.

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, November 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. Humor about being acceptable? Or Acceptable Humor? In my opinion, there is something, that could be called, "unacceptable humor", in particular "humor" (in quotes) that denigrates other people. Unfortunately, the 2016 US Election season seems to have brought some of that "humor" out, into the open. And, above all, be acceptable to yourself!

Monday, October 31, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, October 31, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. Humor about being generous? (We all know examples of humor, about the opposite of Generous: Scrooge, from "A Christmas Carol". Or, "The Grinch who Stole Christmas"). How about being generous, with your humor? Just share, what's in your heart, in everyday life, and you're sure to find humor mixed in.

Sunday, October 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. And what better thing to share, than a good joke? But be careful, as you will likely be judged, for the quality of the humor. For example, how "original" is the joke? If too "derivative", you risk conflict, with the "real author" (in quotes, because sometimes, the actual author can't easily be determined). See, one of my strengths, is as a "Stand Up Comedian, Deadpan Variety". I prefer informality, as I am best, in a situation. My specialty? Explaining politics, to those without a clue!

Weekly Theme: Week of 10/30 - 11/05/2016

The Theme for this Week is Humor.  Since I  think  I "understand" what this word means, I feel it is even more important, for me to check its definition.  Okay.  The first definition, under Google is, "the quality of being amusing or comic, especially as expressed in literature or speech".  My personal feeling, is that a "Sense of Humor", is an extremely important trait to develop and maintain, especially if you are a scientist because, when deep into this career, it's easy to fall into the trap of Paranoia, especially if you allow your career to isolate yourself from the "general public".

Saturday, October 29, 2016

Words for the Day: Saturday, October 29, 2016

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. And it's almost impossible to be an effective Mediator, without holding a good Perspective. And knowing what you wish to accomplish isn't practical, without keeping the Big Picture view.

Friday, October 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, October 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. So how does a Reflection live a life? Have you ever thought of, what goes on on the other side? See, we have two Realities, that "most" would agree with: Earth Reality, and Brain Reality. And don't underestimate the power of that "Brain Reality". It can serve you well.

Thursday, October 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, October 27, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. So do we Mediate methods of Study? Or Study instances of Mediation? Actually, when mediation works, it can teach people many things, including ways to avoid wars, riots, labor strikes, and even family breakups. It can even become a good career.

Wednesday, October 26, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. So, do you "mediate Absorption", or "absorb Mediation"? Doesn't look like this combination works in *either* direction (at least in an obvious way). But, if "indirectly combined", you can come up with something like this: Learning, in a "direct manner", how to become a Mediator. (This is easier to understand, with "foreign languages", because "absorption" becomes "immersion", as in "immersion training").

Tuesday, October 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, October 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review. There are many forms of review, out there. For example, my own, personal review, of the choices I make, in Grocery Stores, after a recent, unfortunate experience with blueberries (which I don't normally have anything against, even looking forward). But, longer term reviews are also important, including one, regarding your entire life, after a universal experience that people eventually go through, death.

Word for the Day: Monday, October 24, 2016

The Word for Yesterday (Monday) was Experimentation. Unfortunately, some of my personal experimentation for the day included sudden dietary changes, including a lot of Frozen Blueberries, used like ice cubes in Unsweetened, Iced Tea. The major issue here, was that, with my deep meditative states, required to "Become" the Eye Blink Universe, many of those blueberries wound up, returning back, through my oral and nasal orifices, into my toilet bowl. Not all Experiments go well, it seems, and it can occasionally require Mediation, between my Brain and my "poor, defenseless "Digestive System". At least, my Universe Duties (including Fact Checking for the Green Libertarian Party) went Okay, and I seem Okay today. Oh well!

Sunday, October 23, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 23, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition., And one good thing, you can recognize, in yourself, are possible traits, such as Mediation, that could turn into a career.

Weekly Theme: Week of October 23-29, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Mediation.  So what does this mean?  According to Google,  "intervention in a dispute in order to resolve it; arbitration".  So is a Mediator an Ambassador?  Perhaps:  I had trouble finding articles, distinguishing between the two.  So how does this relate to "ordinary people"?  As a child, I had to mediate, between Mom and Dad, because they had trouble getting along with each other.  So pay attention to what you do, in your daily life:  It might point you to a career.

Saturday, October 22, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, October 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. Like, for example, "I resolve to Cooperate better". And I've said this more than once: New Years is not the only time to make Resolutions. Any time works. And in addition, it's not important (in my opinion) to make a lot of them. Instead, make resolutions that you think you have a chance to keep. Good luck!

Friday, October 21, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, October 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage. Cooperating to develop Courage? Or the Courage to Cooperate? Second? Where you might need Courage, is WHO you are cooperating with, especially if there are questions, about the future of the relationship. One comment about Courage? Often, the most significant manifestation of Courage, is the courage to say "No!"

Thursday, October 20, 2016

Words for the Day: Thursday, October 20, 2016

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. And a position of strength is the best framework, for any cooperative venture. So (as I love to say), do YOU know your own Strength? Do YOU feel Empowered? Finally, if one wants to develop these two attributes, what you hear, frequently, is to join an Athletic Club (or Gym). But, what manhy miss, is something else that helps: Yoga.

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. So what is harder to achieve? Becoming a competent team-player, using cooperative tools? Or becoming a competent competitor? Depending on the sport involved, it can take years, to prepare to be a celebrity, known for your prowess in the designated sport. But I got into a cooperative office environment, right after College, where we cooperated, to make a large computer perform its duties. And I went from there.

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, October 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. And, even difficult circumstances can be easier to Endure, when you are cooperating with others, than if you are in a competitive situation. (In fact, the competitive situation can be the VERY DEFINITION of the "difficult circumstance" say, if it is that someone is "competing with you, for something you thought you lawfully earned, by robbing you of it").

Monday, October 17, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, October 17, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. And fertility (in the way, normally thought of) is usually a VERY cooperative venture (and when not, things break down VERY badly!) But remember that there ARE other connotations for this Word, including having a Fertile Imagination.

Sunday, October 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability. And yes, a stable environment fosters cooperation, though cooperation can help add stability to a chaotic situation, such as extreme weather conditions, including hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes.

Weekly Theme: Week of October 16-22, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Cooperation.  So what does Cooperation mean, anyway?  According to Google, there are, at least three meanings, the first being, quite simply, "the process of working together to the same end".  Now, contrast this with the first meaning, for "define compete":  "strive to gain or win something by defeating or establishing superiority over others who are trying to do the same".  Now, what feels better?  Cooperating with a friend, or competing with a "rival"?  (And yes, I know that competing can include a "rush", as well as a feeling of "triumph", if you win.  But what if you lose?)

Saturday, October 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, October 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. Now, too things I do NOT believe this Word Combination (Word and Theme) means? 1. Release of the Heart, from Circulating Blood around the body; or 2. Release of the Lungs, from circulating Oxygen.

Actually, the opposite sounds right to me: Release, from body conditions, that might result from insufficient oxygen, or conditions triggered by, either High, or Low Blood Pressure!

Friday, October 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, October 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. Like yesterday, there are medical definitions for this Word. I prefer the meaning, with example usage, "I aspire to be the best I can". (And with our Theme? "I aspire to circulate, as best I can?" LOL!)

Thursday, October 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, October 13, 2016

he Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. Please note that these Words repeat, every 7 weeks (or 49 days). In one of the prior occurrences of this Word, somebody brought up the Contrast Fluid, that hospitals use, when giving some tests (such as a Kidney Functionality test I recall taking). This time, it's funny, because our Theme is Circulation. And I SURE remember that Contrast Fluid circulating in my body. (Don't expect "serious", every day!)

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability. Adaptable Circulatory System? Circulating Adaptability? Second one doesn't make too much sense, but I think the first one does, because it's good to have the best heart you can. By the way, a synonym of adaptability is flexibility. And one thing I've said here before: A flexible person adapts to his/her surroundings. A non-flexible person "requests" that his/her surroundings adapt to him/her.

Tuesday, October 11, 2016

Words for the Day: Tuesday, October 11, 2016

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. Now here, visualization helps. For example, don't you want an Agile Heart (that has no trouble, Circulating your blood, all over your body)? Visualize it! And how about Graceful Leg Muscles, allowing you to navigate your way through the town or city you live in? Visualize it! Simple as that!!!

Monday, October 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, October 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. Accelerated Circulation? Certainly, a good circulatory system in your body and, also your car (if you own one) helps you to accelerate appropriately. But I always advise caution, regarding acceleration on the roads we drive on. Avoid excessive speed always, for safety reasons, but also, even if safe, excessive speed can cost a lot of money, if caught.

Sunday, October 9, 2016

Words for the Day: Sunday, October 9, 2016

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance. And if you are, say, looking for wide circulation for your composition (whether book, music piece, or idea), you may well need, both patience (because things often take longer than you thought), and the ability to tolerate partial results. Good luck!

Weekly Theme: Week of October 9-15, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Circulation.  So what does it mean to circulate?  One meaning is, simply motion, such as "the circulation of blood in the body".  But also, Google mentions "the public availability or knowledge of something", and includes the example, "his music has achieved wide circulation".  I'll simply bring up a slight variation, the "circulation of ideas", and leave it at that.  Thanks!

Saturday, October 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, October 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. So, to connect our Theme, do we Acknowledge good Celebrations? Or Celebrate when people acknowledge us? Hmmm... Not sure about the second one. But one thing I'll say: It takes Knowledge to Acknowledge.

Friday, October 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, October 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. More kindness in this world is something to celebrate. And this works the other direction: When celebrating, be kind about it: Don't go overboard, and avoid excess, especially things like Alcohol. And be kind to those who celebrate with you.

Thursday, October 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, October 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. So do we Celebrate Encouragement? Or Encourage Celebrations? I don't feel competent to throw a proper Celebration, because of being in the (hopefully oblique) influence area for Hurricane Matthew. (Of course, my thoughts and prayers go out to those in the middle of it, including in Haiti, Cuba and the other Island areas already hit. And my full Encouragement goes out to everyone in the path of this Storm, to keep out of its way).

Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Word for the day: Wednesday, October 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. Yes, there are reasons to Celebrate. For example, your "team" might have won over its rival. Okay. But celebrate thoughtfully. Alcoholic beverages are often part of a Sports High, but they also have been known to change priorities, inspire job loss, whether voluntary or because of bad behavior. And then, there are street drugs. My opinion? Say No!

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, October 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. Almost anyone would agree, that having a good Support System is something to Celebrate. But has it occurred to you, that BEING in the Support System of (likely multiple) other people, could also be something to celebrate? Think about it!

Monday, October 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, October 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. And yes, a little comfort in an unusual situation can definitely be cause for Celebration, like when I had sufficiently leg room on a Coast-to-Coast Flight, because of getting seated in an Exit Row. (Yes, extra-long legs: frequently not good, when I was a Frequent Flyer!)

Sunday, October 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. And this works well, in both directions. On the one hand, good nourishment (often coupled with "not so good" nourishment, say from "fast food joints", or with Ethyl Alcohol as a main ingredient) can make a great part of any good celebration. And on the other hand, impeccably created, delicious and, of course nourishing forms of food, can be reasons to celebrate, in and of themselves.

Weekly Theme: Week of October 2-8, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Celebration.  I'm sure most of you know what Celebration means, but I took a look at Google's definition anyway:  "the action of marking one's pleasure at an important event or occasion by engaging in enjoyable, typically social, activity".  One interesting omission, in this definition is the requirement for mixtures, that include the ingredient, Ethyl Alcohol.  So how do you celebrate?  Comments are always welcome.

Saturday, October 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, October 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. Revelations about Prosperity? You have shelves, in bookstores supposedly full of that! Prosperity making Revelations easier? Well, I guess, that if you live in a comfortable environment, it's easier to get into the kind of meditative states, that foster Revelations.

Friday, September 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, September 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. So, are we talking about Revelations of Liberation? Or getting Liberated, due to an Awesome Revelation? Or are we even thinking of (Horrors), "liberating" ourselves from getting Revelations at all? (Like, if you're a Paper Clip, why are you carrying on a conversation with a person, who is trying to write a letter to his spouse? I'm talking to you, Microsoft, who, back in 1998 or so, thought it was appropriate to let a Paper Clip get "Personal" with people who, often only wanted to send a note to a Friend).

Thursday, September 29, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, September 29, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom. And I definitely consider wise Revelations, to be the best kind. By the way, even though some books help you develop wisdom, in my opinion, the best, as well as most efficient way, is Life Experience.

Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, September 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. A Revelation on the topic of Impartiality? An Impartial Revelation? I even wonder what the definition of the second would be? Passing through Channeled information, on topics you're not involved with? Feel free to comment on this. Thanks!

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, September 27, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. A Consequential Revelation? Or a Revelation of Consequences? A "Bible Book" [in the New Testament] that is CALLED Revelations, is DEFINITELY about Consequences. (Because you keep behaving this way, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will come and "get you"!) Just watch those Consequences, my friends!

Monday, September 26, 2016

Word for the day: Monday, September 26, 2016

This is what I posted on Facebook:  The Word for [ahem] Yesterday (Monday) was Elimination. And no, the "Word for the Day" wasn't "supposed" to go into a black hole, or some such. But do take care to eliminate things that stand in the way of a good life.
Nothing to change, really, except for that black hole thing...

Sunday, September 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, September 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. A Self-Reliant Revelation? A Revelation of Self-Reliance? You can certainly find worse!

Weekly Theme: Week of 9/25 to 10/01/2016

The Theme for this Week is Revelation.  Once again, according to Google, this denotes "a surprising and previously unknown fact, especially one that is made known in a dramatic way".  Dramatic?  Drama?  Yes:  "Revelation" has Biblical connotations to it, which are definitely dramatic.  Finally, how do many, current Revelations come about?  By the phenomena of Channeling, of course!

Saturday, September 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, September 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. An Expansive Philosophy? Or a Philosophy of Expansion. Watch out for the second one, by the way, as Intellectual, or Spiritual Expansion is fine, but expansion of the body (say, with lots of delicious food) can get uncomfortable. Be careful!

Friday, September 23, 2016

Words for the Day: Friday, September 23, 2016

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. Do you have a Philosophy of Trust? Do you have Faith in your Philosophy? Last night, I attended a meeting, on the topic of Mental "Illness" (quotes, because I don't fully buy the premise). One theme, discussed was people not "trusting themselves". My response: If you don't trust yourself, who _DO_ you trust? For example, Psychiatrists have been known to violate trust. Often, for example, they are influenced by manufacturers of Psychiatric Medication. My point? Only you can live your life. So you are in charge, one way or another!

Thursday, September 22, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, September 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. What a Philosophy to have: Being thankful to those, who help you? You would think everyone would be that way but, when you look in the news, that does not seem to be the case. We even have a National holiday, honoring this attribute, "Thanksgiving" (at least, in the United States). And it comes on a Thursday, just as this Word always does. Just one more thing to be thankful for!

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, September 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. Here's a funny: "Philosophies of Equality" are NOT created equally! An intrusive philosophy might sound like, "if you know one of us, you know all of us". But a better approach might be a philosophy of, "equal opportunity for all".

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, September 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence. You know the drill. Is it a Prudent Philosophy? Or how about a Philosophy of Prudence? Now either of these, simply imply "Practical", since Prudence is "Discretion, in a Practical manner". But Prudence also has a "slang" element, since people, who go overboard, are in danger of being labeled a "Prude".

Monday, September 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, September 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence. A Philosophy of Innocence? Or an Innocent Philosophy? Surprisingly, these don't sound that far apart. Incidentally, my favorite "vision" of innocence is the "Innocence of Little Children".

Sunday, September 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, September 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness. So how do these combine? "Forgive my Philosophy?" Actually, I like "a Philosophy of Forgiveness" much better. Just be careful, trying to Major in Philosophy in college!

Weekly Theme: Week of September 18-24, 2016

The Theme  for this Week is Philosophy.  So what  IS  Philosophy, besides a College Major for the, soon to be poverty stricken?  (Indeed, one web page, suggesting careers, for the Philosophy Major, went the other way, suggesting careers, that anybody could go for, even without a college education!)  So what value is there, for Philosophy?  How about the "deeper" studies, rarely found in colleges?  For example, Metaphysics and [non-religious] Spirituality?  And, indeed, Quantum Physics can lead to Philosophy, especially when getting into the "Multiple Worlds Theory".  So don't underestimate this topic!

Saturday, September 17, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, September 17, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Authenticity. Teacher of Authenticity? Authentic Education? One form of "Certificate of Authenticity", for an Education, is the resulting Degree (i.e. Masters, or Ph.D., but there are others, such as Associate of Arts). You can even get Certificates of Authenticity, for those Dinner Plates you purchase from companies, such as The Franklin Mint. So how come we don't get Certificates of Authenticity for those Human Bodies we have to live with, all these years?

Friday, September 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, September 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. This works in both directions, as all Education is subject to Interpretation. In the other direction, one major course of study _IS_ Interpretation, an advanced form of Language Studies.

Thursday, September 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, September 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. And what better environment, for social interaction, than an Educational one? In general, I consider in-person socialization to be better, in general, than "electronic socialization", like you find in frameworks, such as Facebook.

Wednesday, September 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, September 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration. And a good level of focus and concentration is quite important, to getting a good Education. So keep that in mind.

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, September 13, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. Acceptable Education? Teaching Acceptable Topics? Wow, how these Themes connect with these Words. But remember that the most important thing, for you, is to be acceptable to yourself.

Monday, September 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, September 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. In an educational setting, it shows up in the extras, such as what you can do, when you are not sitting in a classroom. Many teachers make themselves available for consultation, for example. But even taking a moment to explain things, at the "Blackboard" can be a form of generosity.

Sunday, September 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, September 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. The whole Basis of teaching, is to Share information with other people. So share, and share alike!

Weekly Themes: Week of September 11-17, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Education and Teaching.  Let's see:  "I got my education, because a number of people were willing to teach me"!  Yes, Education is a noun, but Teach is a verb.  Now, when I look up Education on Google, I first see the usual suspect, "the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction".  But the second meaning is the one that excites me:  "an enlightening experience".  For this is what tells us that anything, on Earth (or even elsewhere) can teach you.  And another thing I've heard, is that we all are teachers for each other.  So learn well, this week!

Saturday, September 10, 2016

Words for the Day: Saturday, September 10, 2016

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. Both of these (that make up the "big picture view") are quite important to learning a topic. In fact, in a way, it provides the very infrastructure for course retention.

Friday, September 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, September 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. I see two meanings, one about how a mirror works, and the other, having to do with deep thought (and related to both Review [Tuesday] and Study [Thursday]). And the deep variety of Reflection has a great deal to do, with retention of course material.

Thursday, September 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, September 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. Good, focused study can definitely help, in retaining the object of said study, of course. How do I now this? The opposite, like where I start with the topic at hand, and then take it down a "rabbit hole" into topics, never intended by the teacher of the course in question, often leads to poor grades, in the examinations, that you thought you were studying for. Careful, folks!

Wednesday, September 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, September 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. So, if you are a sponge, you "retain what you absorb!" What could be simpler? So how do you absorb? I hear it all the time: "Keep your eyes and ears open, and your mouth shut!" And for those, studying the Michael Teachings, this marks "Observation Mode".

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, September 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review. In an academic scenario, review can be crucial to retention of course materials. Review is also great, for everyday life:  All the way from reviewing a shopping list, to reviewing your life, when you die.

Monday, September 5, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, September 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation. A good example of a school class with (at least ideally) lab work is Chemistry. And being able to conduct your own experiments, to gain understanding of how our chemicals react with each other is an excellent way to retain the course material.

Sunday, September 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, September 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition. So do we retain the ability to recognize, or recognize the ability to retain? Both of these sound a bit "silly", but recognition requires memory, which is the basis for retention. And what is the basis for memory? The high-powered Supercomputer, known as your Brain, of course!

Weekly Theme: Week of September 4-10, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Retention.  The first thing that pops up, when plugging "define retention" into Google is, "the continued possession, use, or control of something".  But what comes up next might be more telling:  "the fact of keeping something in one's memory".  Because what do we all own, and (supposedly) have full control over?  A brain, with extensive storage capabilities, known as "memory".  Now, I never actually Took an Evelyn Woods Speed Reading course, but was able to browse the "student guide" from it, once.  An important concept was, that it's not so important "how fast" you can read a book, but how fast you can read it, and retain what you read!  So retain what you learn, and return in the morning!  :-)

Saturday, September 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, September 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. One of my favorite sentences on this subject: "I resolve to never lose my resolve". Nothing like the same word being both a noun and a verb. When we bring in our Theme, we find that it's a good idea to Preserve the best, of your yearly Resolutions. In other words, don't just "make New Years Resolutions", only to forget them on January 2nd!

Friday, September 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, September 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage. So are we trying to "preserve our courage" (whatever that might mean), or are we, instead, developing the courage to preserve (something)? Some things are, of course, harder to preserve than others. Like, for example, preserving an Ice Sculpture might be difficult, even to almost impossible, in certain climates.

Word for the Day: Thursday, September 1, 2016

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. Do you know your own Strength? Do you feel Empowered? Do you want to Preserve all of this? Of course, people will tell you to join an athletic club, but that's not the whole picture. Even when discussing physical strength, there is room for Yoga. But remember that these Words aren't all about physicality. For example, there is a "Strength of Will". You could also feel empowered, to hold up your end of a conversation. Good luck, folks!

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, August 31, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. So, are you competent to preserve, or do you strive to preserve competence? Or both? One book, that describes the concept of competence in depth, is "The Peter Principle", by Lawrence Peter.

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, August 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. So do you Endure Preservation, or Preserve Endurance? Likely both will occasionally come up, but most likely at different times. So how does one develop, and preserve Endurance? Of course fitness clubs would enter any competent discussion of this. But I wish to point out that Yoga would be an important step also.

Monday, August 29, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, August 29. 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. Obviously, this is a way to preserve our species. But we need to bring in last weeks theme, Analysis, to be selective about where people can live and be productive. Quality of life is important, too.

Sunday, August 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, August 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability. A stable environment certainly makes it easier to preserve things. And, in the other direction, stability itself appears to be a great thing to preserve. (At least, unless it gets in the way of Adventure).

Weekly Theme: Week of 8/28 - 9/03/2016

The Theme for this Week is Preservation.  So what does Preservation mean?  According to Google, it means, "the action of preserving something".  Now, I would have gotten a "red mark" for that, in English Class, for "defining" a word, by using a derivative of the word in question!  Oh well.  Then what does it mean to Preserve something?  That's better!  Google says, "maintain (something) in its original or existing state".  So put your perishable food in the refrigerator or freezer!  Avoid dropping your smartphone!  Keep laptop computers away from prolonged direct sunlight!  You get the idea.

Saturday, August 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, August 27, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. So how best to analyze a topic, like "Release"? What do you need release from? Limitations? What others think about you? The need to do too much analysis? I've said it before: If you feel stuck, look around your environment. Do you see a "release lever"? They're not always available, but it doesn't hurt to look.

Friday, August 26, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, August 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. A proper "analysis" of this word includes medical meanings (for example, using chest tubes, to "aspirate" fluids from your lungs. You do NOT want to go through this experience. Trust me!)

The "preferred meaning" is best shown by its sentence usage: "I aspire to be my personal best".

Thursday, August 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, August 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. And note that "analyzing Contrast" actually can create some Contrast of its own. But, in general, look around your environment, to find the (usually figurative, but sometimes literal) "Contrast Knob". And be careful, how you "adjust" it, as too little contrast can seem boring, yet too much can get, downright scary!

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, August 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability. Let's "analyze" this a bit. It's related to flexibility, where you can, say, post to Facebook and watch TV at the same time. Or prepare a meal, at the same time as I'm updating the Operating System on the computer in the other room. And it's good to be flexible, as the flexible person tends to adapt to his/her environment, while the inflexible person asks his/her environment to adapt to him/her!

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Words for the Day: Tuesday, August 23, 2016

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. Agile and graceful analysis? Or taking the time to analyze how you can get more agile and/or graceful? Probably a bit of both. So how DO you develop agility and grace? I recommend Yoga.

Monday, August 22, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, August 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. So, as a "public service", I analyze the way we, as a society "accelerates": Our roads would be much safer, if people accelerated, in a safer, more gradual way. And it would save people money, as they would likely get fewer traffic tickets. That said, I am all in favor of intellectual, as well as spiritual acceleration.

Sunday, August 21, 2016

Words for the Day: Sunday, August 21, 2016

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance. Since Analysis can include (usually figuratively) taking something apart, patience is quite important, especially if you are (again figuratively) examining what you separate, so you can put it back together again. Now, in case your "taking something apart" was NOT figurative, you might need to "tolerate" the resulting punishment!

Weekly Theme: Week of August 21-27, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Analysis.  According to Google, Analysis is the "detailed examination of the elements or structure of something, typically as the basis for discussion or interpretation".  There is also something about "separating something into its constituent elements".  In other words, when I hear somebody talking about analyzing something, they might say they are "taking it apart".  As a child, I chanced upon one of my father's older watches, and took it apart.  Of course, putting it back together was easier said than done, and so I got into trouble!  (But I understood watches better than I used to.  All those gears!)  So, folks, have fun analyzing what's in your environment, but keep out of trouble.

Saturday, August 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, August 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. And the "usual" (though ending today) line, about "acknowledging your Archives (or Public Libraries, if you wish) definitely follows. One more thing: It takes Knowledge to Acknowledge. Think about that!

Friday, August 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, August 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. And be kind to all of the people you meet, in those Archives you visit, whether the Public Library (including, in my home town, a "Cybrary"), or even in online archives. If you download a lot of material, it's kind to contribute back, in kind, whether with your own exciting contributions, or with money. And don't think that something, that's "openly available" is actually "public domain". This is a controversy, that causes some to be "UnKind". Let's play fair.

Thursday, August 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, August 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. And I absolutely recommend encouraging your "local Archives" (more than just your Public Library, but also, can include a well-run Used Bookstore). In the case of the Used Bookstore, it may need even MORE "tender, loving care", because "brick and mortar stores" suffer, greatly, due to corporations, such as Amazon!

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, August 17, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. And yes, if you are in an "Archive" (Public Library), be thoughtful of people around you. Keep your voice down, and avoid disturbing those, around you. And being thoughtful also builds on yesterday's Word, when thinking of what organizations might need financial support.

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, August 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. And what does it mean to "Support your Archives"? Simple! Does your local public library have a Foundation? Besides getting a Library Card, can you "become a member" of your local library? Who determines what type of books you will purchase? When the library is open? Investigate!

Monday, August 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, August 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. And places I've often found quite comfortable, are public libraries (one use, of our theme, Archives). They are also, often, one of the few places people, who are "housing challenged" can go, sit down and, of course, get comfortable.

Sunday, August 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, August 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. Now, unless you are a Silverfish, paper documents are not likely to be, literally nourishing. However, a book can be "intellectually nourishing", depending on its quality, of course!

Weekly Theme: Week of August 14-20, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Archives.  This is a lesser-known word, unless you work in, either the Information Technology field (where you use computer tools, to archive your important files), or a Public Library (where Archive is a synonym).  One website I like, is archive.org, which is taking on the task of making public domain items (documents, audio files, and videos) available.

Saturday, August 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, August 13, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. So! Just HOW would one create a "Strategy", for Prosperity? First off, by avoiding the majority of those "Get Rich" books, that are out there! (If they actually "worked", why would the [garden variety] author share their secrets? Wouldn't he [yes, mainly "he"] just use the technique(s) himself, rather than "giving them away"?) In my opinion, one of the most important strategies, is to avoid actions that stand in the way of prosperity (such as misuse of credit cards).

Friday, August 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, August 12, 2016

The Word for Today is Liberation. Liberation from Strategy? I don't THINK so! But a Strategy of Liberation, or Liberation from barriers, to creating a good strategy sound good to me. Look for issues in your life, that you might like to be liberated from. Then create a strategy. Simple as that!

Thursday, August 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, August 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom. Strategy of wisdom? Or a Wise Strategy? In this case, it works in both directions. So how do we best gain wisdom? Sorry, folks but, no matter how helpful books or "Weekend Conferences" can be (though PLEASE be selective, because it "takes all kinds", to make a world, fill bookstores, or take your hard-earned money, to "confine" you in a crowded room, usually with uncomfortable chairs, very few refreshments and, finally NEVER enough restroom breaks), you need real, Life Experience, to build true Wisdom!

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, August 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. If you want to become a news correspondent, you are "supposed" to be "impartial". But that's easier said than done! Even news Networks have fallen on their faces, regarding the fact that people wish for, at least "lip service" to impartiality. But my life, in the Eye Blink Universe, has to be, as close to impartial as possible, for reasons that nobody "cares about" on Planet Earth. Just like Vulcans [Star Trek] have emotions, news anchors have opinions. All we look for is balance.

Tuesday, August 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, August 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. I'll agree that any Strategy is likely to have consequences. But think about this: Wouldn't a "lack of strategy" likely include a special set of consequences?

Monday, August 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, August 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination. Eliminate strategy? I don't THINK so! But, once we create our "Life Strategy", we can certainly take steps to eliminate, what stands in the way of it.

Sunday, August 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, August 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. Self-Reliance makes a good strategy of life as, in my opinion, it's not always possible to rely on others. In other words, interdependence is good, but we should also know how to be independent, when needed.

Weekly Theme: Week of August 7-13, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Strategy.  According to Google, Strategy is "a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim".  This term is popular, in the context of both the military, as well as some games, such as Chess.  So what is your strategy, for living your life?  Will you concentrate on family or career?  Work, or play?  Travel, or staying put in one place?  Stability or adventure?  It is all up to you!

Saturday, August 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, August 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. Now this is simple: Spiritual, or intellectual expansion is quite useful. But physical (say, around the middle, when lots of "delicious food" is consumed), less so. Be selective!

Friday, August 5, 2016

Words for the Day: Friday, August 5, 2016

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. To connect these with our Theme (Usefulness), it's probably easier to see when these Words are NOT Useful. Misplaced Trust is not useful (because Trust, especially in a person, must be earned and developed -- NOT demanded!) Likewise, Blind Faith is less than useful. In my opinion, faith needs to be coupled with verification.

Thursday, August 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, August 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. I find it VERY useful, to show my Gratitude, for things that help me. And, in general, other people tend to appreciate it. Try it: You'll like it!

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, August 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. And how can Equality be Useful? When it is about equal opportunity. On the other hand, I don't consider "forced conformity" (the flip side of "equality", often seen in some private schools with, among other things, school uniforms) very useful.

Tuesday, August 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, August 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence. Practical? Everyday Affairs? What could be useful about this? Perhaps, it's more what the antonym (or opposite) is? Foolish? Wasteful? When you put it that way, things make more sense.

Monday, August 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, August 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence. How useful is it to be innocent? Ask the people, in Jail, waiting for their trials! Seriously! (Of course, I know that many in Jail, statistically, are guilty, but NOT ALL!) One organization I've been following, for a number of years, is the Innocence Project, which uses DNA, to either exonerate someone in Prison, or confirm their guilt.

Sunday, July 31, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, July 31, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness. I don't expect people to have to ask forgiveness, for "being useful". But, earlier in my life, I felt the need to ask forgiveness, for "getting in the way", when I "failed, in my attempt to be useful.

Weekly Theme: Week of 7/31 - 8/06/2016

The Theme for this Week is Usefulness.  So what does it mean to be useful?  According to Google, "able to be used for a practical purpose or in several ways".  (In other words:  Once again, Google uses a form of the word [used] in its definition!)  As a child, I was often "the opposite of useful", or "in the way".  This was because I tended, much of my life, to be "clumsy".  In 1973, when I attempted to work at a "fast food joint" (Jack in the Box), I found out that I lacked the capability to "hustle", or do my job quickly.  So I didn't last there that long, either (though I did well, as the only worker, during parts of Graveyard Shift, where quantity wasn't quite as important, but quality was).  So find your own ways to be useful.

Saturday, July 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, July 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Authenticity. An Authentic Economy? We should hope so! Practical Authenticity? Authentic Practicality? Hopefully both. But, finally, if we get Certificates of Authenticity for some items that we purchase, why not for the bodies we use?

Friday, July 29, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, July 29, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. Practical Interpretation? Yes, how DO you interpret, in a practical manner? Well, for one, If you fill this in, in Google, you get higher mathematics, including how it fits in with finance! In addition to all this, interpretation becomes a career choice, if you are fluent in more than one language.

Thursday, July 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, July 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. Now, we all know what it is, to "Socialize via Facebook". But [rhetorical], did you know you can also Socialize in Person? What happened to all those neighborhood Barbecues I remember as a kid? Well, in the Seth teachings, there's something called "Bridge Beliefs", where a belief can exist, that bridges two, otherwise unrelated ones. So, in a similar spirit, there's an App/Website, that "bridges" frameworks, such as Facebook and Twitter, and "In Person": www.meetup.com.

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, July 27, 2016

The Word for today (Wednesday) is Concentration. It can be difficult to concentrate, when there is noise around you. But Concentration can help, to separate the Signal, from the Noise. Focus.

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, July 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. An acceptable economy? Yes, if it allows anyone to, not only survive, but thrive. Practical Acceptability? Probably the only kind, that is sustainable.

Monday, July 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, July 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. So how about a "random, senseless act of Generosity" sometime, in the next few days? Just like Kindness, it helps the world go around.

Sunday, July 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, July 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. And, I guess if you economize, in a practical manner, you have more to share with the world.

Weekly Themes: Week of July 24-30, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Economy and Practicality.  Economy?  "Careful management of available resources".  Practicality?  Practical?  "Actuality, rather than theory".  Remember one of TruTV's earlier mottoes:  "It's not Reality.  It's Actuality"!  So, combining these, you could say, "Careful management of Actual Resources".

Saturday, July 23, 2016

Words for the Day: Saturday, July 23, 2016

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. And the best way to support an Organization, is if you know the "Big Picture View" of it. That way, you are less likely to take action, that contradicts the needs of the Organization.

Friday, July 22, 2016

Word for the day: Friday, July 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. I think this goes well with Organization, in both directions. Organized reflection: taking time to see how things went, this day. Reflecting your organizational skills out, into the world. Good luck!

Thursday, July 21, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, July 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. Organized Study? That's what they call "Study Hall", or the stacks of a Public Library. (I got information from our local newspapers, via Microfiche, to study past events, such as the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake).

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, July 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. So how does this assist with Organization? One good example is lots of Book Cases. THEN, you can organize your book collection, in any way you want. (And I'm speaking to myself: I used to store many of my books in boxes. Fine, I guess, until you're trying to find one of them!)

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, July 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review. Organized Review, or Review of Organizations? And yes, I believe both of these occur. Note, also, how many different types of Review exist: Everything from reviewing a shopping list, before stepping into a store, to a formal Lifetime Review, undertaken after death. One useful version of Review is a review of a day, taken just before going to bed at night.

Monday, July 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, July 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation. So, today we get to "organize our Experiments"? Where's the fun in that?  :-)  (And yes, this question HAD come up, in High School Chemistry class. But guess what? We lost less glassware, in the "organized experiments").

Sunday, July 17, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, July 17, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition. So let me "recognize" all the "Organizations" I belong to. Some are bigger than others, but "pure size" does not, necessarily translate to "level of importance".

Weekly Theme: Week of July 17-23, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Organization.  Once again, this can be, either a noun or a verb.  As a verb, it has to do with making order, out of "chaos".  For example, it would be good, for me to "organize my Apartment".  :-)

As a noun, an organization is something you can "belong to".  This can be anything, from a corporation to a church.  Even a family is a type of organization.  But one form of organization may fit this week, better than others:  Academic organizations, or schools.  Learn well!

Saturday, July 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, July 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. How silly can I make this? "I Resolve to Protect my Resolve"? One thing to keep in mind: Resolutions can be made at any time, not just at New Years!

Friday, July 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, July 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage. So do we "Protect our Courage", or have the "Courage to Protect"? I guess the second one depends a lot on what we're "protecting". All you need to do, is to pay attention to the "daily news", to see how much there is out there "to Protect". (Or not! Sometimes, it takes more courage to "just say No").

Thursday, July 14, 2016

Words for the Day: Thursday, July 14, 2016

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. Do you know your own Strength? Do you feel Empowered? Do you think that will allow you to "Protect" something [bringing in our Theme]? The answer to each of those questions SHOULD be "Yes!" The only way, other than that would be to "agree" to a "limitation". And you wouldn't want to do THAT, would you?  :-)

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, July 13, 2013

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. So how does one become competent, to protect things? Hopefully, not like Charlie Chaplin did, in a rare hybrid, between the Silent Movies, and the new Talkie ones. I watched Modern Times   last night. It is set in 1936, and shows how MUCH has gone wrong, from the 1930's, to our present time. Competence? Watch the movie (like I did on Hulu). And then vote!

Tuesday, July 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, July 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. So do we "protect our endurance", or "endure our protection"? Both? And looking at the news, I see lots to "endure", these days. Good luck!

Monday, July 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, July 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. So today, we're "protecting our species", by "being fruitful and multiplying". At least, that's one connotation for this Word. Another connotation, and one I like, is to have a fertile imagination. Can't that be "protection", towards intelligent discourse?

Sunday, July 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, July 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability. And a stable environment, just by itself, can help protect against certain types of danger. Note that this works in the other direction also, as protection, just by itself can be quite stabilizing.

Weekly Theme: Week of July 10-16, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Protection.  So what does protection mean?  Paraphrasing Google (and combining two of its meanings) gives, "The action of preventing someone or something from suffering harm or injury".  What constitutes "harm"?  Google says, "physical injury", yet I hear usages of the word, coupled with other adjectives like, for example, "moral harm".  And what would one use, to protect against moral harm?  The bible?  :-)

Saturday, July 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, July 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. So what do you feel, you need release from? Responsibility? Now, that's more common than you might think, but remember that the responsibility actually came with the other parts of, whatever endeavor you entered, whether husbandry, wifery, a career, or, quite simply, any sort of long-term commitment. That said, you might definitely be able to find release from obstacles, standing in the way of your responsibilities.

Friday, July 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, July 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. Shouldn't people aspire to be the best husband, wife, brother or sister (as well as uncle, aunt or cousin), to help a family work? And remember that this is a multidimensional effort.

Thursday, July 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, July 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. Now, life on a farm has often been described, as a life of contrasts. But life ANYWHERE on this Earth also qualifies. I personally prefer a life of balance, because too little contrast can seem boring, yet too much can get downright frightening!

Wednesday, July 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, July 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability. An adaptable (or flexible) Husband? I could think of a lot of wives, who would love that! (Though, to be fair, everyone, regardless of gender, can learn a lot, by living a flexible life).

Tuesday, July 5, 2016

Words for the Day: Tuesday, July 5, 2016

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. These are always good traits to develop and maintain, but this goes double, if you work on a farm (original meaning of Husbandry, our theme). If you need help, developing either agility, or grace, I recommend Yoga.

Monday, July 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, July 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. Yesterday, there was a comment asking what an "Accelerated Husband" might be like. Hopefully, "he'll" use his "accelerated powers" for good. Yes, folks, these are energies, like ones people associate with the Astrological Chart. And, as such, they are neutral, and can be used for "good", or "evil". Just remember the Law of Karma, folks!

Sunday, July 3, 2016

Words for the Day: Sunday, July 3, 2016

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance. And the acts, that make up Husbandry (whether "animal" or not) can require quite a bit of patience and tolerance, to do them justice.

Weekly Theme: Week of July 3-9, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Husbandry.  Plugging that into Google gives two meanings:  "Care, cultivation and breeding of crops and animals", and "Management and conservation of resources".  And please note that the acts of "husbandry" are not limited to people, who "just happen" to be male spouses.  (Once, when I encountered this Theme before, I asked, "How about Wifery?"  It turns out that there is something called "Spiritual Wifery"!)

Saturday, July 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, July 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. And I strongly acknowledge those, who have helped me to be, what I am today. (And remember, it takes "knowledge" to "acknowledge").

Friday, July 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, July 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. "Cultivate Kindness"? Absolutely! Just BE kind! Perform "random acts" of Kindness. What goes around, comes around.

Thursday, June 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. Encourage Cultivation? Cultivate Encouragement? Not as "cut and dried" as some other Words, this week. On the second one, I would caution, to carefully think through what you encourage, as you might need to live through the effects, for a long time.

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 29, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. As simply "thinking, before speaking and/or acting", I consider this a fantastic trait to cultivate. (And I think the opposite combination also works: "Thoughtful Cultivation").

Tuesday, June 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. "Support Cultivation", or "Cultivate Support"? I believe both directions work as, in the first case, the "act of Cultivating" is quite important, whether on a farm, or if, what you are cultivating is imagination. But the other direction is, in my opinion, even more important. For example, "cultivating a Support Group" may make a difference, in how well your life proceeds. (And it's important, also, to "cultivate" your own abilities, to be part of the Support Groups of other people).

Monday, June 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 27, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. "To Cultivate Comfort"? "Be Comfortable enough to Cultivate [whatever you were working on, whether on a farm, or 'just' in your life]"? It appears to work in both directions. (An example of the first "version" would be to choose comfortable chairs, when in the market for chairs).

Sunday, June 26, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. And what better thing to cultivate, than a nourishing meal?

Weekly Theme: Week of June 26 to July 02, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Cultivation.  According to Wikipedia, Cultivation can refer to many things, many of which have to do with farming.  However, one use, according to Wikipedia, one use is "the process of trying to acquire or develop a quality or skill".  For example, I've dedicated much of my life to "cultivating spirituality".  In the category of "Michael Roles", this blends the qualities of Warrior and Server.

Saturday, June 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. So -- Do you make a "Choice" to be "Prosperous", or does the Prosperity  itself  make it "easier" to make Choices? Once again, I think there's a bit of both involved here. And remember that Prosperity isn't always about money. Somebody who writes books, would understand the concept of "Prosperity of Ideas", for example.

Friday, June 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, June 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. "A Liberating Choice", or "The Choice to Liberate"? I think both. One thing I've found: A step, in the road to liberating myself from a "situation", is to learn about that situation as best I can -- in other words, to Understand it.

Thursday, June 23, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 23, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom. This can work, in both directions: "Wisdom to make good Choices", as well as the "Choice to develop Wisdom". In the second case, the question comes up, on how to develop wisdom? That is, of course, part of how people are "taught to grow up" (including things, such as what schools to attend). But one thing people often miss: Life experience, itself is quite important.

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. The choice to develop this trait is not common, and is rarely achieved. Even where it's "expected" (the News), it's not only rare, but rare enough, that examples, found to be authentic (even part of the time) should be cherished and encouraged.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. Now, I'll be the first to admit that all choices have consequences, some benign, some positive and, unfortunately, some negative. But I submit that the Choice to "not MAKE a choice" can lead, at times, to the most dire consequences of all. (One personal example: Back in the 1990's, I learned, quite vividly, that ignoring the IRS [Internal Revenue Service, here in the USA] can turn out, quite hilariously horrible).

Monday, June 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination. And right up front, I categorically state that I am, flat out against the elimination of choice. That said, look close, because there may be items in your life that, if eliminated, might increase your choices going forward.

Sunday, June 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. I've personally found a choice to develop self-reliance to be an extremely beneficial choice. And it works in both directions, since part of self-reliance is knowing that there are always choices available.

Weekly Theme: Week of June 19-25, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Choice.  People are "Choice-making beings", whether they think they are or not.  Even when we "think" there is "only one choice", there are more than that.  Some of them may "seem invisible", but they're there.  They can be as simple as "doing nothing", turning yourself in to some authority or another, or possibly facing "abrasive relationship changes", if you refuse a direct order.

Instead of, "There is no choice", it might be better to state something like, "Even though there are choices, one is markedly clearer than the others, due to severe consequences".  For example, most "normal people" would say, "I pick up an item in a store, and pay the proper price, before leaving the store with it".  But the other "choices" might possibly trigger a criminal record, violence or both.

Saturday, June 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. Expansion is a form of transformation. But the TYPE of expansion makes a lot of difference. For example, I like intellectual and spiritual expansion a lot. But physical expansion say, around the middle of the body? Might be an issue!

Friday, June 17, 2016

Words for the Day: Friday, June 17, 2016

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. Now both of these are useful, in the process of personal transformation: Trust the Universe, and have Faith in a higher power. But, when other people are involved, watch out, as Trust must be earned and developed, and Faith shouldn't be blind.

Thursday, June 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. Today conducted itself, almost like a Lucid Dream (Lucid Living, anyone?) All the way from a Dental appointment at 9am, to a Meetup (7pm) about, of all topics, Lucid Dreaming, the "transitions" between events were, pretty much Awesome, and for all this, I am Eternally Grateful. Talk about a Transformation!

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. Equal opportunity transformations? Transition to an "equal being" (whatever that might mean)? The transition I do NOT want to see, however, would be to forced conformity (another, darker side of "equality").

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence. A Prudent Transition? To Transform Prudently? I think both, at different times. Remember, by the way, that Prudence is, simply, "practicality in everyday affairs". So it's possible to be prudent, without becoming a prude.  :-)

Monday, June 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 13, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence. Transition from Guilty to Innocent? (Actually, it would more likely be "incorrectly convicted" to innocent). Transform into complete innocence? There's a lot to think about this week, for sure!

Sunday, June 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness. Ask forgiveness for your transformations? You might need to, if the changes weren't positive. But I prefer to transform positively, where I don't need to apologize.

Weekly Themes: Week of June 12-18, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Transition and Transformation.  An often humorous variation of this is Transmogrification, which I "thought" originated with the Calvin and Hobbs cartoon, but now know was in use much earlier.  But, back to the dictionary.com definition, to Transmogrify is to "transform grotesquely"  --  in other words, the "dark side" of our Themes.  And what makes me think in this direction?  Because we (in the USA) just experienced yet another mass murder, bringing up the question, about how people, who might come across normal (enough, in this case, to pass background tests, to become a security guard) can transform (or transmogrify) into a murderer?  So may all your Transitions and Transformations be uplifting ones!

Saturday, June 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Authenticity. Does your project have a "Certificate of Authenticity"? (Ir a Plate, or Coin can, why not a project? Or, for that matter, why not a human being?) In general, if you need to be authentic to someone, why not yourself?

Friday, June 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, June 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. So how does one interpret their project? Will it help other people? Get you connected with the "opposite sex"? Is it sustainable? Does it harm anybody (and I'm including Plants and Animals, here)? Who benefits? With good answers here, you are on your way to success (whatever that means to you).

Thursday, June 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. We are "social animals". And, in my opinion, Socialization includes "socializing in person". Yes, Facebook and Twitter are considered "hang-out spots", but I like being physically with others. Note that there are tools, to find people, close to you, such as one I use, meetup.com.

Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration. And concentration is a great tool, for completing projects, no matter how they were started. Every time I see this word, by the way, I am reminded of a TV Game Show, with the same name. Hugh Downs was the original host.

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. So what makes a project (whether "precipitated" to you, or directly "initiated") acceptable? First, is it designed to harm others? Second, is it safe? (I recently watched the "reboot" of the Fantastic Four movie, where a Teleportation experiment went bad. I'd be interested in that, but it CERTAINLY wasn't "safe"). Third, is it "cost effective" and "sustainable"? Take care, folks!

Monday, June 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. Be generous, in how you approach projects, whether "dropped in your lap" (precipitation), or self-initiated. If a project is started, with expansion in mind, it's easier to do it, than if it were done, as a "single thing to be accomplished". And note that I'm being quite general here: This should apply, whether the project is in the arts, sciences, or in the business world.

Sunday, June 5, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. Sharing what you start is, of course appropriate. But what I find even better, is to share what I have completed. Think about it.

Weekly Themes: Week of June 5-11, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Precipitation and Initiation.  So you want to start something?  Fair enough.  Now, is it going to drop in from the sky  (like Precipitation, from the clouds)?  Or are you going to "Initiate" it yourself?  Now, three weeks ago, we also had a set of Themes, one of which was Imagination.  That is, of course, a wonderful tool for initiating something.  Good luck, folks!

Saturday, June 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 4, 2016

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. As one, who concentrates on the "Big Picture View", I firmly believe it helps, a lot with Discovery. Like the cliche, where someone misses the Forest, because of all those "pesky trees" that get in the way.

Friday, June 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, June 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. So how do you "Discover" through Reflection? First off, you might discover something about yourself, by looking into a mirror. (I was surprised to find that some people are afraid to do this. Why?) But the other definition, "deeply pondering", can also help, where something might come to mind, that you hadn't thought of before: Just a change of perspective might be enough.

Thursday, June 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. So what can you "discover", through study? If you approach it well, anything you wish! And yes, be selective: There's too much information out there, to try to study more than a few topics!

Wednesday, June 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. So how does "acting like a sponge" help you discover things? In my life, I've found that, when I simply "absorb what's spoken around me", I'll hear things that I hadn't heard before, inspiring me to look them up. Try it: it might work.

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, May 31, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review. And I find it important to review what I've discovered, no matter how. Please note that there are several layers of review, all the way from reviewing a shopping list, to see if you missed anything, to reviewing your life, an action that I believe should occur many times, during your lifetime.

Monday, May 30, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, May 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation. I LOVE experimenting. But, on the other hand, I also realize that errors can occur, especially if trying out something new. But that's how discoveries are made. So, even knowing mistakes can occur, I still take time, frequently to experiment with learning new things.

Sunday, May 29, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, May 29, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition. So how does this work? Do you recognize discoveries, or discover your recognition of something or someone? Probably both occur, but at different times. But I'd like to recognize those who have helped me to be what I am today. Thank you, all!

Weekly Theme: Week of 5/29 to 6/04/2016

The Theme for this Week is Discovery.  The definition is simple:  "The act of finding something".  So what discoveries have you made in your life?  I've made a lot of discoveries, studying my life, as well as Reality itself.  And there are multiple fields of study that can be used, in case you wish to do the same.  If you want to learn about the human body, you can study zoology or medicine.  If the human mind, psychology or psychiatry.  But if you really want to go "behind the scenes", you can get into metaphysics and/or spirituality.  For example, what occurs after death?  So what are you waiting for, folks?

Saturday, May 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, May 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. (My favorite quote: "I resolve to not lose my resolve"). Anyway, Resolutions can be made anytime in the year, not just at New Years. And a great Resolution is to live in a Location that is beneficial, long term, to your growth, family situation, career, and so on. (In other words, think Holistically).

Friday, May 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, May 27, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage. Once again, it takes courage to live in certain "Locations". An extreme example is Antarctica, of course, but Alaska comes to mind. And many countries, outside of the USA come to mind also, for many reasons, such as political situation and climate.

Thursday, May 26, 2016

Words for the Day: Thursday, May 26, 2016

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. Strong and powerful locations? Locations which help you to feel that way? Maybe, though I've remembered feeling the opposite, in some locations, especially if extra hot and humid. What I've learned, this lifetime, is that location is pretty important, meaning that when you are planning to move, pay attention to the "attributes" of the locations that you are thinking of moving to. Good luck!

Wednesday, May 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, May 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. Can your location help and/or hinder your competence? Absolutely! For example, you might end up with a non-functioning car, if you live in North Dakota, and didn't take into consideration Engine Block heaters, during a winter "cold snap", where it might get to 10 below zero, or even worse. And you need to be ready for tornadoes, in some states, such as (but not limited to) Kansas and Oklahoma.

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, May 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. Do some "Locations" require more endurance than others? I think so, even if Weather Patterns are the major criteria for quantifying required Endurance.  :-)

Monday, May 23, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, May 23, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. Location is, of course, important for the "usual connotation" of Fertility. (Like, for example, not conducting sexual acts in public). But remember that Fertility has multiple uses, such as, "he has a fertile imagination". And location can be important here, also, such as it being easier to create fiction about nature, when you ARE in nature.

Word for the Day: Sunday, May 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability. Stable Location? Well, in my opinion, we all need a "base of operations". (I sure do!) Just don't make it "a stable". LOL!

Weekly Theme: Week of May 22-28, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Location.  "Location is everything", some have said.  And where you are, makes a lot of difference.  Keep this in mind, as you go from city to city, and state to state, through your life.

Saturday, May 21, 2016

Word for the Day Saturday, May 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. When you feel stuck, look for a "Virtual Release Lever", which can "un-stick" you. Your imagination will, of course, help a great deal.

Friday, May 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, May 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. "I Aspire to use my Imagination, to turn in my best Composition ever!"

Thursday, May 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, May 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. If you are working on a project (whether a composition, or an imaginative thrust), keep in mind the amount of contrast, in it. Too much might cause you to lose your audience, yet too little might make some of them to find your piece boring. Balance!

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, May 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability. This is also known as flexibility, and is great for imagination. Remember that the flexible person adapts to his/her surroundings. However, the inflexible person requests that his/her surroundings adapt to him/herself.

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Words for the Day: Tuesday, May 17, 2016

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. An Agile Imagination? Graceful Compositions? Why not? And if you wish to develop agility and grace, I suggest Yoga.

Monday, May 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, May 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. Imaginative Acceleration? Accelerated Compositions? I DO like the concept of "accelerated imagination". Just be careful not to accelerate a Motor Vehicle excessively, unless you attract the "wrong" kind of attention.

Sunday, May 15, 2016

Words for the Day: Sunday, May 15, 2016

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance. It takes a lot of Patience to create a composition. And you might need to "Tolerate" more than one "attempt", before you are satisfied with your "Imaginative output". Good luck, folks!  :-)

Weekly Themes: Week of May 15-21, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Composition and Imagination.  Both of these are related to the "acquisition of a project".   Indeed, a "composition" is a "work" of art, literature or music.  But what is it "composed" of?  Imagination comes to mind, of course, but something more simple might also be true, especially if a piece of music is, "Theme and Variations".  In that case, the "theme" already exists, often as part of an earlier "composition".  Now, my specialty is classical music, so that is the basis of my analysis.  How you define, for example, a painting, I'll leave to others.

Saturday, May 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, May 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. And I absolutely acknowledge those, who have helped me find my way, towards a balanced life. Please note that it takes Knowledge to Acknowledge.

Friday, May 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, May 13th, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. The Sun is kind enough to provide us light. The Earth is kind enough to rotate for us. The Flowers are kind enough to bloom in the spring. The Rain and Snow are kind enough to keep us from drying out. What more do we need, for a balanced life?

Thursday, May 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, May 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. Encouragement to balance, or a balanced encouragement? Both? Neither? Just be careful to encourage that, which you can live with long term.

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, May 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. So how does thinking before you speak and/or act lead to a balanced life? Indeed, this can even help others, around you live a balanced life!

Tuesday, May 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, May 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. Have you found your "support group" yet? And yes, you should have one. It might be easier to find who you, yourself help support. Because "no one is an island unto him/herself". And, to make this better, this is all part of living a balanced life.

Monday, May 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, May 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. Are you in a comfortable chair? Comfortable bed? Does the furniture fit your mood? Hopefully, most people reading this fit. But if not?

Sunday, May 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, May 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. And what would be better, than a balanced diet, to provide a foundation for an awesome life?

Weekly Theme: Week of May 8-14, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Balance.  What does the word Balance bring to mind?  A person walking a tightrope?  That's certainly one time balance is important!  But what does it mean to live a "balanced life"?  In my opinion, that would be when career and family life are balanced.  When waking and sleeping are balanced with each other.  When food and exercise match enough, to keep the body healthy.  Just do it!

Saturday, May 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, May 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. Prosperity, through Conservation? Possible, if what is being "conserved" is expensive enough. Waste not, want not!

Friday, May 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, May 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. Liberation from conservation? No. Conservation becoming a key towards liberation? I think so.

Thursday, May 5, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, May 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom. The wisdom to conserve effectively? Conservation of Wisdom? (Hint: Physical Life Experience is the best way to FIND and Develop Wisdom!)

Wednesday, May 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, May 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. Where do you look for this? The News? Where do you find this? Wikipedia? Now, likely both fall flat at times, but the "peer review" model for Wikipedia helps a lot.

Tuesday, May 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, May 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. Eliminate Consequences? Consequences about Conservation? Goodness gracious! But remember, that consequences, because you conserve are likely to be MUCH less severe, than consequences, because you wasted, instead. Once again, common sense wins.

Monday, May 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, May 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination. Eliminate Conservation? Never!!! But I can see elimination of behaviors, that stand in the way of Conservation. Good luck!

Sunday, May 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, May 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. Self-Reliant Conservation? Why not! Only you can determine how much water (or electricity, heat, air conditioning, or fuel) you need to use. Use common sense!

Weekly Theme: Week of May 1-7, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Conservation.  So how do you conserve?  Stop using?  Cut back?  I've had personal experience with water, since I lived through multiple droughts in the San Francisco area, but Fossil Fuels come up in conversation also.  In my opinion, there must be a balance, between using what you actually need, but not wasting any more.  For example, one water wasting "technique" I've seen, is to blow your nose, throw the tissue in the toilet, and flush it!  Think about it!
