Word for the Day: Friday, April 30, 2010

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness.

The funny thing about this word is that it works pretty well with just about every weekly theme there is. In other words, in this case, be kind to everybody, regardless of if they have a disability (which might even be the "disability" of thinking too much of the past and future, such as to miss what is happening in the Spacious Present), or even no disability at all!

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 29, 2010

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement.

This word fits in well with this week's theme, as people can be encouraged to either compensate for, or go past their disabilities, whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 28, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness.

Thoughtful? Full of thought? Certainly not what they taught me in Meditation class! But it sure helps in life -- thinking before acting or speaking.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Word for the Day: Tuesday, April 27, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support.

Who doesn't need support every now and then? And, connecting this with the weekly theme, supporting people with disabilities is good work.

Monday, April 26, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, April 26, 2010

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort.

To tie this to the weekly theme, comfort is known to allow one to temporarily forget disability.

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Word for the Day: Sunday, April 25, 2010

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment.

Coupling this with the weekly theme (Disability), I would find good Nourishment to be a great way to treat disability.

Weekly Theme: Week of April 25 to May 1, 2010

The Theme for this Week is Disability.

First off, this marks the beginning of a new Michael Month, with a Priest flavor to it. The week is a Server week. And a person on this row, for this block, would have Disability as a Global Job.

I admit to a bit of confusion as to why this would be a good trait. Being an advocate for those who are disabled is one I can think of.

Feel free to comment. What are your feelings of a Global Job or Weekly Theme of Disability?

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 24, 2010

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity.

This is a good one, as long as you don't have complexes (or Self Karma in the Michael teachings) around the subject. And remember that prosperity has more to it than money.

Friday, April 23, 2010

Word for the Day: Friday, April 23, 2010

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation.

This word has been misused before: Invading another country being called "liberating" that country. I guess the idea is that the new ruler would be "better" than the old one.

The best person to liberate you is yourself. Find those self-made prisons and break free.

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 22, 2010

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom.

I've said this before, but it is important: Wisdom comes from Life Experience, not from Book Reading.

Life experience is, practically by definition, primary experience. Contrast this with reading books, magazines, and newspapers, as well as watching TV. What you get here is Secondary Experience. In other words, you might see dire emergencies on your TV set from halfway around the world, while you are comfortable in your living room in an easy chair. The problem here is that Secondary Experience can also trigger body responses, such as adrenaline flow, and the dreaded "Fight or Flight Response", which, if it is not balanced, can cause body imbalances, illness, even to a possible heart attack.

I suggest nature. For example, go out and hike in the woods. Plenty of primary experience there!

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 21, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality.

One example of Impartiality is to treat anybody you don't know on an even keel, only discerning from your own experience of him/her.

What often occurs, instead, is that other people tell you a bunch about the person before you meet him/her. Sometimes, this helps (if you are pre-warned of duplicitous behavior), but often, the person "warning you" has personality traits of his/her own. I've often found I can get along with people that others have trouble with.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Word for the Day: Tuesday, April 20, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence.

There is a saying in the scientific realm: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction". That is one way to define Consequence: If you push another human being, it is likely that he/she might push you back!

Consequence is a good lesson to learn, whether you are a Michael student or an executive of Goldman Sachs.

Monday, April 19, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, April 19, 2010

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination.

This word can mean many things, from eliminating waste material from the human body, elimanating unwanted clutter from your home (sometimes called Spring Cleaning), all the way to eliminating unwanted "brain loops", which allows for a calmer mind, and an easier time relating to the world around you.

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Word for the Day: Sunday, April 18, 2010

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance.

Nobody is an island unto him/herself. We all depend on each other. However, that does not excuse any of us from learning how to survive on our own at times.

Weekly Theme: Week of April 18-24, 2010

The Theme for this Week is Diplomacy.

Note that this trait is one in use in the world itself, not only by government officials. For example, I had to be a diplomat between Mother and Father when growing up, especially when pots and pans were flying between them in the kitchen.

Saturday, April 17, 2010

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 17, 2010

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion.

I find expansion much more comfortable than contraction. Literally! (For example, contraction often is a contributing factor when I get a severe headache. Even the weather can cause contraction: I can often tell changes in the weather, such as when a severe storm is about to come to Seattle, including both gale force winds and heavy rain, because my bones hurt!)

Friday, April 16, 2010

Words for the Day: Friday, April 16, 2010

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith.

I've said this before: Trust must be earned, and this includes you, governments and religious leaders (both of which regularly demand trust from their constituents).

As to Faith, it must not be blind, but must be conscious, including fearless research. (In the Michael Teachings, faith is noted as the negative pole of Spirtualist Attitude. The positive pole is verification, even while being expansive towards what is being considered).

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 15, 2010

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude.

I have immense gratitude to the Universe for allowing me to evolve to the point where I am able to read DNA and find my REAL home! I no longer have to slide (or be bounced around) from Parallel to Parallel. So, to be simple, "Thank you very much, Universe!"

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 14, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality.

As I've said before, my take is that this is about Equal Opportunity, not everybody "being the same". Diversity is a good thing!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Word for the Day: Tuesday, April 13, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence.

What do I think of when I look at the word, Prudent? Careful? Cautious? This can certainly be a good word to keep in your medicine chest of life!

Monday, April 12, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, April 12, 2010

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence.

Do you notice how babies and toddlers get away with a lot more than older people? (Crying in Church? No problem! A parent usually, and calmly carries the child out, into a "quiet room" outside the sanctuary, often with a Closed Circuit TV in it, showing them the service anyway. But the majority of parents aren't mad at their baby or toddler). This is because of the Innocence of this baby or toddler. (Don't try loudly acting up in public, as an adult, however, or you are likely to wind up, either in a Mental Institution, or in Jail for Disorderly Conduct. See, you are not seen as "Innocent" at that point!)

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Word for the Day: Sunday, April 11, 2010

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness.

(Obviously, there is a personal angle to this, as I feel a bit guilty for updating this BLOG so late in the day).

People have been known to say, "Forgive and forget". However, our memories don't work that way. But there is an alternative meaning for the word, Forgive: Give Forth, as in giving forth love and compassion. I find this a lot more realistic than trying to induce "selective amnesia".

Weekly Themes: Week of April 11-17, 2010

There are two Themes for this Week: Intercourse and Dialogue.

The first word is so misunderstood that I had to look it up. According to an online dictionary, there is a meaning that people often overlook: Social Intercourse, or, simply, "communication between individuals". (However, the second definition is what people usually think of: Sexual Intercourse).

This brings me to the second Theme: Dialogue. This definitely means "communication between individuals".

So it turns out that these two Themes match each other after all!

Saturday, April 10, 2010

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 10, 2010

The Word for Today is Authenticity.

What does it mean to be authentic? Perhaps finding your home reality, rather than just "playing" in other Parallel Universes is a good start? (And it feels great to be home finally!)

Friday, April 9, 2010

Word for the Day: Friday, April 9, 2010

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation.

As a service to people, I'm going to "Interpret" this into Michael Speak: According to the Michael DNA Entity chart, we are currently in the Sage Block (which I call the "Michael Month", with 7 weeks in it). Inside this block, we are currently in the Sage Row (which I call the Michael Week, currently with a Theme of Humor), and Priest Casting (which I call the Michael Day, with the word as above). We are currently in the Truth "Lesser Year", with 343 days in it, with the current day being 230.

Did you know that there is a Wikipedia Article on the Michael teachings? It currently only has information on the Chelsea Quinn Yarbro version. Since I have an account on Wikipedia, I plan to put a few updates on it with links to the more current Michael websites, including Michael Educational Foundation.

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 8, 2010

The Word for Today is Socialization.

Nobody is an island to him/herself. (Or I hope not. That would be quite lonely). But we get together and mingle. That is good.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 7, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration.

We are concentrated beings, folks! That's why we're on planet Earth, as opposed to, say, living in a cloud somewhere.

My interpretation of this is a technical, computer term, "scalability". The ability to be small (for example, in a meeting, sitting in the back of the room and asking no questions), or large (for example, the one sitting the the second row, who overwhelms the speaker with questions).

If you can do both of these tasks elegently, contact me! Seriously. (It has to be both, however).

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Word for the Day: Tuesday, April 6, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability.

This is one, very important portion of a bigger topic, Acceptance, which is a part of Agape Love.

It is easy to accept a person who practices Acceptability. However, the trick is to be able to accept people who have trouble in that area. (In other words, finding the good traits in somebody who spends a portion of their time misbehaving. This can show up as accepting the person, while correcting his/her behavior).

Monday, April 5, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, April 5, 2010

The Word for Today is Generosity.

I feel expansive when I am generous. The times when I've been "stingy" (usually when I have been living in "poverty consciousness"), it felt "scrunched up" (or contracted). In fact, my life has gone much better, in general, since I made a policy of being generous.

Try it out!

Sunday, April 4, 2010

Word for the Day: Sunday, April 4, 2010

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing.

Once again, this word (Sharing) works well with this week's theme (Humor): If you find a good joke that hasn't been overused, find someone you think will like it and Share it! (However, please don't spam).

Weekly Theme: Week of April 4-10, 2010

The Theme for this Week is Humor.

Keep your Sense of Humor and treat it well! It is the best way to keep sane in this rather treacherous world we call Planet Earth.

Friday, April 2, 2010

Word for the Day: Friday, April 2, 2010

The Word for Today is Reflection.

This is the realm of the Mirror. Mirrors reflect, and other people you meet can also reflect. In effect, the Universe can point out aspects of you that, say, rub other people badly, by giving you other people around you with the same aspect.

The key to all of this is to be able to constructively accept feedback from others around you.

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 3, 2010

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective.

These are both Big Picture aspects and pertain to my Community Responsibility.

Reminder of what I am referring to: The Michael Teachings Michael DNA Chart. Today is numbered 224, to match the Sage Realm (or Month), Scholar Row (or Week), and King Day (or Saturday).

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 1, 2010

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study.

This was not my favorite word when I was growing up, as I was "supposed" to study every night for school the next day. However, if you pick a fun topic to study, it can go better.
