The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement.  Balanced Encouragement?  (Just a little confusing).  [or]  Encouraging Balance?  (Perfect!)  And I *do* Encourage living a Balanced life.  By the way, it takes Courage to Encourage.

Word for the Day: Wednesday, March 28, 2018

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. Balanced Thoughtfulness? (Sounds confusing). [or] A Thoughtful Balance? (Better, but still only goes together in a tentative way). But remember that being Thoughtful, simply means to Think, before acting *or* speaking. In other words, avoiding the concept of "Knee Jerk Actions", which can get you in trouble in *many* ways!

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. Balanced Support? [or] Supporting Balance? (Similar, but not the same. Both could work). I've asked these questions before: "How big is your Support Group?" [and] "How many Support Groups do you belong to?" Because it *does* work both ways: We Support others, as we are Supported by others. Think about this.

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. Balanced Comfort? [or] A Comfortable Balance? (Both have possibilities). But I have a suggestion: If your Dining Experience is improved by the presence of comfortable seating, tell Restaurant Management. They love positive feedback!

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment.  And what could be better, than a Balanced, Nourishing (and hopefully Delicious) Meal?  Need I say more?

Weekly Theme: Week of March 25-31, 2018

The Theme for this Week is Balance.  So what is Balance, anyway?  In the context of our Themes and Words, the phrase "a Balanced Life" comes to mind, so I plugged it into Google, getting 10.5 million hits!  Many of them are books and websites, including this one, which defines it pretty well.  Often, when discussing Balance, it's "between" two topics, such as the "Work and Life Balance", where you put in enough hours, to manage a Career, while leaving enough time for Family, your health, and even Recreation.  So live balanced!

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. So how does Conservation make you Prosperous? One way is, that if you Conserve what you use, you spend less money on it. (At least theoretically, your Water and Electric Bills will be smaller, if you use less). Also, lack of Conservation can be costly as, when there is little, of a Resource left, the small amount, available may end up costing a great deal!

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. With our Theme, today works, pretty close to how last Monday went: "Liberation from Conservation?" (I Hope Not!) "Okay. But Liberation from what stands in the way of Conservation?" (Now we're on the right track!) Note that there's also "Personal Liberation": Are you stuck in a box? Look around, for you may find a way to Liberate yourself, for most of the Boxes in our lives have exits.

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality).  Now, I have to admit, that the topic of Conservation (and, by extension, Environmentalism) is something I have trouble being Impartial about, because of how damaging, violations of it (them) are to Planet Earth.  But I can see the point, where people miss important information, if they only consider "one side" of an Issue.  Comments?  Thanks!

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. Are there Consequences for Conservation? Probably some. But I suggest that there are, even *more* Consequences, when people *fail* to Conserve! Because wasteful use of the Resources of Planet Earth can make Earth uncomfortable for, Plants, Animals, and definitely People to live on. Careful there!

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination.  Eliminating Conservation? [NO!!!!]  Eliminating what stands in the way of Conservation?  [Much better!]  And here are a couple of things, that could stand in the way:  [1] Misinformation, where people don't even know what Conservation means!  [2] A generally wasteful attitude.  (Example: During the recent and huge, California Drought, some people were observed blowing their nose, dropping the tissue into the toilet, and flushing it!)  The response can be, as simple as an Educational Campaign.

The Theme for this Week is Conservation.  According to Google, to Conserve means to Protect.  In Environmental connotations, you have Conservation, where we Protect the Resources of Earth.  In Political connotation, we have the Conservatives, who appear to be attempting to Protect the Past.  I definitely prefer the Environmental meanings, to the Political ones.  Let's Conserve our Earth!

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. Like the other Words this Week, this one responds well with a comparison, with our Theme: "How Welcome is Expansion?" And, like the Other Words, the Answer is the same: "It Depends!" In this case, "Welcome Expansion" includes Intellectual and/or Spiritual Expansion. "Less Welcome Expansion", would be Expansion, around the middle of the Human Body, typically triggered by eating "excessive amounts" of "delicious [usually] food".

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith.  Now, how Welcome are these?  Once again, it depends:  If you are Trusting the Universe, and having Faith in a "Higher Power", that sounds awesome to me.  But this falls down, the moment when "frail human beings" are involved.  Why?  Because, in those Situations, Trust must be Earned, and Faith better *not* be Blind!  Word to the Wise.

The kinds of questions might be how many people are a party to the Partnership, and what sort of Relationship do they have with each other? Also, what category of Partnership, such as personal (marriage) or career-based (business)? Come to think of it, Interpreter could be a good, Career choice.

(For example, I would consider Bonnie and Clyde to be Partners). So what makes one Partnership acceptable, but another not? Results? For example, Children sound Acceptable, but Robberies? Not so much.

Weekly Theme: Week of March 4-10, 2018

The Theme for this Week is Partnership.  One of my favorite Operetta's, is HMS Pinafore, by Gilbert and Sullivan.  In the fourth Stanza of the song, "When I was a Lad", there is a wonderful line: "Of legal knowledge I acquired such a grip That they took me into the partnership. And that junior partnership, I ween, Was the only ship that I ever had seen".  What I find amusing, is their play on words, between the term Partnership, and Ship of the Sea.  (But then, that is common in Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas).

But, back to our Theme, I wish to suggest that we often embark on "Partnerships" with each other, often without even thinking about it!  (And this even goes beyond the Career moves we make, during our Lifetimes).  Think about it!

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection.  Now  *this*  is a Word with two, apparently distinct meanings:  A Deep form of Review.  [and]  What you see, when you look into a Mirror.  What is interesting, is that Both of these pertain!  For example, let's consider the Mirror.  That concept is quite interesting, as Mirrors can appear in many guises, including people you consider important.  When you see something distinct (and often disagreeable) in another person, consider the possibility, that you are seeing something you should "Reflect on", in yourself.
