Word for the Day: Thursday, June 30, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. Encourage Cultivation? Cultivate Encouragement? Not as "cut and dried" as some other Words, this week. On the second one, I would caution, to carefully think through what you encourage, as you might need to live through the effects, for a long time.

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 29, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. As simply "thinking, before speaking and/or acting", I consider this a fantastic trait to cultivate. (And I think the opposite combination also works: "Thoughtful Cultivation").

Tuesday, June 28, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. "Support Cultivation", or "Cultivate Support"? I believe both directions work as, in the first case, the "act of Cultivating" is quite important, whether on a farm, or if, what you are cultivating is imagination. But the other direction is, in my opinion, even more important. For example, "cultivating a Support Group" may make a difference, in how well your life proceeds. (And it's important, also, to "cultivate" your own abilities, to be part of the Support Groups of other people).

Monday, June 27, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 27, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. "To Cultivate Comfort"? "Be Comfortable enough to Cultivate [whatever you were working on, whether on a farm, or 'just' in your life]"? It appears to work in both directions. (An example of the first "version" would be to choose comfortable chairs, when in the market for chairs).

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. And what better thing to cultivate, than a nourishing meal?

Weekly Theme: Week of June 26 to July 02, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Cultivation.  According to Wikipedia, Cultivation can refer to many things, many of which have to do with farming.  However, one use, according to Wikipedia, one use is "the process of trying to acquire or develop a quality or skill".  For example, I've dedicated much of my life to "cultivating spirituality".  In the category of "Michael Roles", this blends the qualities of Warrior and Server.

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. So -- Do you make a "Choice" to be "Prosperous", or does the Prosperity  itself  make it "easier" to make Choices? Once again, I think there's a bit of both involved here. And remember that Prosperity isn't always about money. Somebody who writes books, would understand the concept of "Prosperity of Ideas", for example.

Friday, June 24, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, June 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. "A Liberating Choice", or "The Choice to Liberate"? I think both. One thing I've found: A step, in the road to liberating myself from a "situation", is to learn about that situation as best I can -- in other words, to Understand it.

Thursday, June 23, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 23, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom. This can work, in both directions: "Wisdom to make good Choices", as well as the "Choice to develop Wisdom". In the second case, the question comes up, on how to develop wisdom? That is, of course, part of how people are "taught to grow up" (including things, such as what schools to attend). But one thing people often miss: Life experience, itself is quite important.

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. The choice to develop this trait is not common, and is rarely achieved. Even where it's "expected" (the News), it's not only rare, but rare enough, that examples, found to be authentic (even part of the time) should be cherished and encouraged.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. Now, I'll be the first to admit that all choices have consequences, some benign, some positive and, unfortunately, some negative. But I submit that the Choice to "not MAKE a choice" can lead, at times, to the most dire consequences of all. (One personal example: Back in the 1990's, I learned, quite vividly, that ignoring the IRS [Internal Revenue Service, here in the USA] can turn out, quite hilariously horrible).

Monday, June 20, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination. And right up front, I categorically state that I am, flat out against the elimination of choice. That said, look close, because there may be items in your life that, if eliminated, might increase your choices going forward.

Sunday, June 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. I've personally found a choice to develop self-reliance to be an extremely beneficial choice. And it works in both directions, since part of self-reliance is knowing that there are always choices available.

Weekly Theme: Week of June 19-25, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Choice.  People are "Choice-making beings", whether they think they are or not.  Even when we "think" there is "only one choice", there are more than that.  Some of them may "seem invisible", but they're there.  They can be as simple as "doing nothing", turning yourself in to some authority or another, or possibly facing "abrasive relationship changes", if you refuse a direct order.

Instead of, "There is no choice", it might be better to state something like, "Even though there are choices, one is markedly clearer than the others, due to severe consequences".  For example, most "normal people" would say, "I pick up an item in a store, and pay the proper price, before leaving the store with it".  But the other "choices" might possibly trigger a criminal record, violence or both.

Saturday, June 18, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 18, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. Expansion is a form of transformation. But the TYPE of expansion makes a lot of difference. For example, I like intellectual and spiritual expansion a lot. But physical expansion say, around the middle of the body? Might be an issue!

Friday, June 17, 2016

Words for the Day: Friday, June 17, 2016

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. Now both of these are useful, in the process of personal transformation: Trust the Universe, and have Faith in a higher power. But, when other people are involved, watch out, as Trust must be earned and developed, and Faith shouldn't be blind.

Thursday, June 16, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. Today conducted itself, almost like a Lucid Dream (Lucid Living, anyone?) All the way from a Dental appointment at 9am, to a Meetup (7pm) about, of all topics, Lucid Dreaming, the "transitions" between events were, pretty much Awesome, and for all this, I am Eternally Grateful. Talk about a Transformation!

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. Equal opportunity transformations? Transition to an "equal being" (whatever that might mean)? The transition I do NOT want to see, however, would be to forced conformity (another, darker side of "equality").

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence. A Prudent Transition? To Transform Prudently? I think both, at different times. Remember, by the way, that Prudence is, simply, "practicality in everyday affairs". So it's possible to be prudent, without becoming a prude.  :-)

Monday, June 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 13, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence. Transition from Guilty to Innocent? (Actually, it would more likely be "incorrectly convicted" to innocent). Transform into complete innocence? There's a lot to think about this week, for sure!

Sunday, June 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness. Ask forgiveness for your transformations? You might need to, if the changes weren't positive. But I prefer to transform positively, where I don't need to apologize.

Weekly Themes: Week of June 12-18, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Transition and Transformation.  An often humorous variation of this is Transmogrification, which I "thought" originated with the Calvin and Hobbs cartoon, but now know was in use much earlier.  But, back to the dictionary.com definition, to Transmogrify is to "transform grotesquely"  --  in other words, the "dark side" of our Themes.  And what makes me think in this direction?  Because we (in the USA) just experienced yet another mass murder, bringing up the question, about how people, who might come across normal (enough, in this case, to pass background tests, to become a security guard) can transform (or transmogrify) into a murderer?  So may all your Transitions and Transformations be uplifting ones!

Saturday, June 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Authenticity. Does your project have a "Certificate of Authenticity"? (Ir a Plate, or Coin can, why not a project? Or, for that matter, why not a human being?) In general, if you need to be authentic to someone, why not yourself?

Friday, June 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, June 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. So how does one interpret their project? Will it help other people? Get you connected with the "opposite sex"? Is it sustainable? Does it harm anybody (and I'm including Plants and Animals, here)? Who benefits? With good answers here, you are on your way to success (whatever that means to you).

Thursday, June 9, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 9, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. We are "social animals". And, in my opinion, Socialization includes "socializing in person". Yes, Facebook and Twitter are considered "hang-out spots", but I like being physically with others. Note that there are tools, to find people, close to you, such as one I use, meetup.com.

Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration. And concentration is a great tool, for completing projects, no matter how they were started. Every time I see this word, by the way, I am reminded of a TV Game Show, with the same name. Hugh Downs was the original host.

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 7, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. So what makes a project (whether "precipitated" to you, or directly "initiated") acceptable? First, is it designed to harm others? Second, is it safe? (I recently watched the "reboot" of the Fantastic Four movie, where a Teleportation experiment went bad. I'd be interested in that, but it CERTAINLY wasn't "safe"). Third, is it "cost effective" and "sustainable"? Take care, folks!

Monday, June 6, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, June 6, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. Be generous, in how you approach projects, whether "dropped in your lap" (precipitation), or self-initiated. If a project is started, with expansion in mind, it's easier to do it, than if it were done, as a "single thing to be accomplished". And note that I'm being quite general here: This should apply, whether the project is in the arts, sciences, or in the business world.

Sunday, June 5, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. Sharing what you start is, of course appropriate. But what I find even better, is to share what I have completed. Think about it.

Weekly Themes: Week of June 5-11, 2016

The Themes for this Week are Precipitation and Initiation.  So you want to start something?  Fair enough.  Now, is it going to drop in from the sky  (like Precipitation, from the clouds)?  Or are you going to "Initiate" it yourself?  Now, three weeks ago, we also had a set of Themes, one of which was Imagination.  That is, of course, a wonderful tool for initiating something.  Good luck, folks!

Saturday, June 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 4, 2016

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. As one, who concentrates on the "Big Picture View", I firmly believe it helps, a lot with Discovery. Like the cliche, where someone misses the Forest, because of all those "pesky trees" that get in the way.

Friday, June 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, June 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. So how do you "Discover" through Reflection? First off, you might discover something about yourself, by looking into a mirror. (I was surprised to find that some people are afraid to do this. Why?) But the other definition, "deeply pondering", can also help, where something might come to mind, that you hadn't thought of before: Just a change of perspective might be enough.

Thursday, June 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. So what can you "discover", through study? If you approach it well, anything you wish! And yes, be selective: There's too much information out there, to try to study more than a few topics!

Wednesday, June 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. So how does "acting like a sponge" help you discover things? In my life, I've found that, when I simply "absorb what's spoken around me", I'll hear things that I hadn't heard before, inspiring me to look them up. Try it: it might work.
