Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 30, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence.

What does it mean to be a competent human being? (And note that I'm not talking about being, say, a competent Barista in a Coffee House while in human form, but, instead, of being a competent human being).

Think about that, please. If you are courageous enough, ask for a dream on the subject, but be sure to put a notebook or microphone by your bed so you can get the details of the resulting dream.

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 29, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance.

This can be a good word, or a bad word. (Actually, a word is neutral -- it's how it's used in context that causes the emotional activity).

How much can you endure? How about now? (That's the scary part for me).

Monday, June 28, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, June 28, 2010

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility.

Obviously (I hope), there are multiple versions of Fertility. For example, a fertile mind and/or imagination. An author with a lot of published books might be considered fertile, for example.

However, this doesn't stop a person or animal (i.e. a rabbit) from being biologically fertile.

Sunday, June 27, 2010

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 27, 2010

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability.

This Word goes with the theme of Survival quite well, as keeping your life stable can certainly help with survival. How? If you're living in chaos (which I see as the opposite of stability), you can easily overlook safety issues.

Weekly Theme: Week of June 27 to July 3, 2010

The Theme for this Week is Survival.

What does it mean to survive? Not die? Does quality of life come in there anywhere?

I've heard people say things like, "I'd rather thrive than just survive".

Think about these topics.

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 26, 2010

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release.

We all have our prisons in life that we want out of. Consider today's word to be a tool for this.

However, be careful, as the authorities are onto us. ;-) (In other words, follow the laws of the land, as this doesn't work as a "Get out of Jail Free card").

Friday, June 25, 2010

Word for the Day: Friday. June 25, 2010

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration.

It is great to shoot for the best in your life. Like who would want to aspire to mediocracy?

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 24, 2010

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast.

One contrast experience is that some days, people, in general, seem to treat each other well. Other days, people in general seem rude to each other. This has caused me to identify days as "positive" or "negative". (Note that any individual person can be either, depending on their own individuality. The prior observation is statistical analysis of people in general).

Find your Contrast Knob. It will help you.

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 23, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability.

Doesn't it feel better to adapt to changes in your surroudings? That is the flexible approach to reality. The problem with being inflexible is that, when exerting force on others to "make" them change, the tendency is to lose friends, because people don't want to be forced to change.

In the Micheal Teachings, this corresponds to the Chief Feature of being Stubborn.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

Words for the Day: Tuesday, June 22, 2010

The two Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace.

This can be approached easily with Hatha Yoga. Go for it!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, June 21, 2010

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration.

The way some people approach life (i.e. with Impatience), it's a good thing people don't get speeding tickets in life, like they can get when driving a car. (There are warnings at times, however. Look for them).

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Two Words for Today: Sunday, June 20, 2010.

The Two Words for Today are Patience and Tolerance.

I can't stress this enough: An impatient person is often intolerant of those who hold him/her up.

Remember: There is all the time in the world. You just need to know where to find it.

Weekly Theme: Week of June 20-26, 2010

The Theme for this Week is Manifestation.

In the New Age, everybody wants to consciously manifest. (And that's a lot better than manifesting by default). But, even consciously, you need to make sure you don't ask for something that will cost you more than you thought it would. (For example, a new child is often a full-time job for many years).

Saturday, June 19, 2010

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 19, 2010

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement.

Acknowledgement takes knowledge. Plain and simple! You know somebody. That person helps you out. And you tell other people about it.

Don't hide your support group, folks! We work better as a cooperative community.

Friday, June 18, 2010

Word for the Day: Friday, June 18, 2010

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness.

This word should be self-explanatory! If so, why, oh why do we have so many wars in this world? On a more local level (probably local, no matter where you are reading this from), why, oh why do we need Road Rage? I mean, isn't it possible to give the other driver the benefit of a doubt? He or she might have just had a bad day at either home or the office. Fair enough?

Please commit a random act of Kindness today (or Saturday, since you might get this late).

One note: There is an overlap with these Transits, where today's Transit has some meaning the day before, as well as the day after. I'm working on an application, where you can put in a date and get what Word (as well as Weekly Theme) applies. Wish me luck!

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 17, 2010

The Word for Today is Encouragement.

I could use some, and the Audubon Society can use some (as well as some donations). Those sick birds in the Gulf area are sad! :-(

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 16, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness.

A mind is a horrible thing to waste, especially if the part that is wasted is where it is used, carefully, prior to speaking or acting.

I think of the mind sort of like a cup that overflows with thoughts.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 15, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support.

The Michael Teachings discusses how we all have a 12-piece Support Group around us, if only we can find it!

Your life will work much better if you can find this Support around yourself.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, June 14, 2010

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort.

Seth (Jane Roberts = Author) has a concept he brought up in, I believe, "The Nature of the Psyche". It is "Primary Experience verses Secondary Experience".

Let me give you a common example in the Suburbs of well known cities in the United States. A family is sitting in their Living Room in their house, watching TV. They might even be eating Popcorn. They have Air Conditioning, set to a comfortable 70-75 degrees. This is Primary Experience, where today's word fits ("They are Comfortable").

Now, they also have a Secondary Experience, where they are reacting to a TV News story about something halfway across the United States (example, inner city area of Los Angeles, Detroit, or East St. Louis), where there might be gang activity and some people might be murdered. In some cases, some of these people experiencing this "Secondary Reality", might be at risk for a Heart Attack or a Stroke, due to not being able to handle overdoses of Adrenaline, created by the body itself.

The problem? The body uses Adrenaline to help out with Fight or Flight, which could be proper if, say, they need to dodge a car, running a Stop Sign while they are crossing at a crosswalk.

But what is a poor body to do, if it can't apply this Adrenaline to constructive use? Unfortunately, sometimes it "has no choice" but to attack parts of the body itself, perhaps the heart or brain.

Antidote? Honor your Primary Experience, especially when it gives you Comfort.

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 13, 2010

The Word for Today is Nourishment.

Nourishment of the body comes from good food. (You can get this type of Nourishment by patronizing a good restaurant. But you can also nourish your mind with a good book.

Be careful of junk food.

Weekly Theme: Week of June 13-19, 2010

The Theme for this Week is Patronage.

I do not hear this word used much these days, unless it's fundraising time for my local PBS station. But it makes sense that these public stations can call those who directly support them patrons. (Note that, other than "pledge weeks", programs on PBS stations are not normally interrupted by commercials).

Note that this begins a new 7 week Michael Month, the last of a 343 day Michael Year, with the feel of the King Role, or Mastery.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 12, 2010

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity.

Is a person really prosperous, who has tons of money, but is so dead inside, that he/she can ignore sick, oil soaked birds in the Gulf of Mexico, while mis-spending the money of British Petroleum? Yes, I'm talking to you, BP Management!

Anyway, to the normal people reading this BLOG: "Live Long and Prosper!"

Friday, June 11, 2010

Word for the Day: Friday, June 11, 2010

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation.

I am choosing to liberate myself through service. I'm moving to Louisiana to volunteer to help rehabilitate oil soacked birds, from the BP oil fiasco.

You have no idea how freeing that feels to me!

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 10, 2010

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom.

What does it mean to be wise? Reading books? Not unless you apply the info you get to your life. Actual experience is what you want. Become the book. Live the story. Become.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 9, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality.

This is a Scholar trait that is hard for even Scholars! It is hard to not take sides, you know, especially when one of them seems so far apart than the other.

I don't pretend to have the answer to this connundrum myself, except to suggest that objectivity and neutrality may be possible, even while using common sense.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 8, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence.

What comes around goes around. Big or small, it just happens. But now, we are facing the consequence of a lack of safety standards on oil rigs.

Monday, June 7, 2010

Word for the Day: Monday, June 7, 2010

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination.

This is definitely a multi-faceted word, as it has to do with the body, mind, home, and office (example of the latter: Where I used to work, our Administrative Assistant would frequently come over and nag me about cleaning my desk, even bringing up fire marshalls).

Whatever you do, it will be good to eliminate what does not work in your life.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Word for the Day: Sunday, June 6, 2010

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance.

Tying this to the themes of this week adds to my suggestion that we own our own set of Principles, as well as our own Code of Ethics. This does not mean we don't accept feedback from others, or consider principles and ethics others contribute to the world. Only that we live our own life.

Weekly Themes: Week of June 6-12, 2010

There are two Themes this week: Principles and Ethics.

I am of the opinion that everybody needs a set of Principles to live by, as well as a Code of Ethics.

Neither of these are static, frozen in concrete, but dynamic, updated by the experience of life.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

Word for the Day: Saturday, June 5, 2010

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion.

One thing to be careful of when expanding: Do not expand beyond the ability of the container. Breakage could occur.

However, I know no limit to spiritual expansion.

Friday, June 4, 2010

Words for the Day: Friday, June 4, 2010

There are two Words today (Friday): Trust and Faith.

Faith should not be blind, but should work with verification. For example, a lot of people's lives get ruined, when they have too much faith in the leader of a cult. Jonestown and Waco come to mind, where a bit of "noticing" might have [and perhaps did] allow some people to exit the cult before disaster struck.

And this comes down to Trust, also. I suggest caution, any time anybody DEMAND that you trust them. Even if it's your government. Trust must be earned. In the case of the two cults mentioned above, their leaders demanded trust from their followers, and see where this led.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Word for the Day: Thursday, June 3, 2010

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude.

I find it interesting that Gratitude is a Thursday (Sage in the Michael teachings) word. The US holiday called Thanksgiving also comes on Thursday.

Find somebody to thank today.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Word for the Day: Wednesday, June 2, 2010

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality.

Some people equate this with conformity, which is generally some leader trying to make everyone "in his/her image"; in other words, trying to make people around him/her think, speak and act in the same way.

Instead, I see Equality as equal opportunity, allowing people to express their uniqueness.

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Word for the Day: Tuesday, June 1, 2010

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence.

Wisdom in practical affairs? Think before you speak or act? (Like Thoughtfulness, from Wednesday, April 28, 2010)?

This word sounds close to the word, Prude. If that means to be wise and practical in the sexual arena, that might fit.
