Words for the Day: Friday, June 4, 2010

There are two Words today (Friday): Trust and Faith.

Faith should not be blind, but should work with verification. For example, a lot of people's lives get ruined, when they have too much faith in the leader of a cult. Jonestown and Waco come to mind, where a bit of "noticing" might have [and perhaps did] allow some people to exit the cult before disaster struck.

And this comes down to Trust, also. I suggest caution, any time anybody DEMAND that you trust them. Even if it's your government. Trust must be earned. In the case of the two cults mentioned above, their leaders demanded trust from their followers, and see where this led.
