The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence.  And believe it or not, some locations demand more competence, just to live there.  For example, to live in North Dakota (ND) requires enough competence to, either own, rent or share a home, with enough heating to survive challenging winters.  Also, I once saw a video of a ND Safeway parking lot, with wall sockets at each parking space, so you could plug in an engine block heater, when you go shopping in the winter.  Otherwise, in the space of the shopping trip, your engine could be frozen, not allowing you to start your car, when you return.

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance.  And yes, some locations (our Theme) might require more endurance than others.

In general, I consider yoga to be a good part of endurance training.

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility.  The "usual" meaning ties in with our Theme, as some locations are better than others to "be fruitful and multiply".  :-)

In general, remember that there are other meanings of fertility, such as a fertile imagination.

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability.  And a stable location is a great thing to have.  Or maybe not, if it's stable, but you're chronically unhappy about it.  The best thing about stability is that you have more time for other things, such as investigating what might make you happier.

Weekly Theme: Week of 7/28 - 8/03/2013

The Theme for this Week is Location.  "Location, location, location!"  That's what "they" all say, right?  For example, what's the right location for you to live?  I can't answer that, of course, but there can be clues.  For example, if you don't like cold weather, the US State of Alaska might not be a good fit.  A good question to ask:  Do you think you can be comfortable, living at the location in question?

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release.  Last Thursday, I discussed a contrast knob.  Somewhere close to it, look for a "Release Lever", which should help you to release yourself from self-made boxes, barriers and prisons, that can come up in your life.

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration.  I believe I can combine this with our Themes in one sentence:  "I aspire to use my imagination to produce excellent compositions".  Good luck, folks!

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast.  Use your imagination to examine your life, and you should be able to find something like a "contrast knob".  This is important, as too much contrast can get scary, yet too little can get boring.

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability.  Another word for this is Flexibility, and a flexible imagination can result in many compositions, as any successful author, or music composer, can tell you.

In general, remember that a flexible person adapts to his/her surroundings.  An inflexible person, on the other hand, "requests" that his/her surroundings adapt to him/her!

The Theme for this Week is Balance.  When I look at the definition, one synonym I like is Equilibrium, which almost has the word Equal in it.  When in a state of balance, you often can see choice points easier than when in a state of instability.  In conclusion, I recommend a balanced life.

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence.  Consequences of conservation?  (I do remember, as a child, my parents' water bill rate going up, because, since people were using less water, the water company needed to raise their profits).

That said, the main consequences are for the lack of conservation.

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance.  Self-reliant conservation?  Well, I feel that conservation does have to start with us, the public.

The Theme for this Week is Conservation.  What does it mean to conserve?  Use less?  I've lived through water shortages before (even to the point of taking "navy showers").  In general, I'd say "use smart", meaning use what you need, but don't go overboard (i.e. blowing your nose, throwing the tissue into the toilet, and flushing is, in my opinion, going overboard on use of water anywhere in the country).

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith.  What is "welcome" this time, is to understand the real meaning of these two Words.  For example, trust must be earned (and can easily be violated), and faith should not be blind.  Watch out for those who demand your trust, especially if they act opaque, like many governments do these days [i.e.  withholding lots of their "state secrets", under the guise of "Top Secret"].

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality.  Taken from one direction (and normally quite welcome) is Equal Opportunity.  This is what Civil Rights laws get you.  However, there is another angle of equality, which may not be as welcome. This is where everybody is asked to look and/or act the same.  Another word for this is Conformity.

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence.  How can Prudence be Welcome?  When "practical affairs" are handled, in a way to avoid being "offensive to other people", the lack of problems can, itself, be welcome.  But be careful, as going overboard with prudence can make you seem like a prude.
