Word for the Day: Thursday, October 31, 2019

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom.  A Wise Code of Ethics?  (We most certainly  *hope*  so!)  And  *how*,  pray tell, do people  *develop*  Wisdom?  Reading the Best Books?  Taking the Best Weekend Seminars?  Okay, those may help, but How about Life Experience?  In my Opinion, Life Experience contributes  *much*  *more*  to Wisdom, than either of those other Options.

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 30, 2019

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality.  Impartial Principles?  How about an Impartial Code of Ethics?  (Yikes!  I got over 4.5 million hits on Google!)  Codes of Ethics, that I have read, often demand Impartiality, but we are Human Beings, not Machines.  This is a Topic that will not be solved in, say, Facebook Posts.  But I am  *certainly*  interested in Feedback.

Word for the Day: Tuesday, October 29, 2019

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence.  So Principles and Ethics come with Consequences?  Probably.  But I suggest that refusing to create them could come with, even worse Consequences.  It's all a matter of degree.

Monday, October 28, 2019

Word for the Day: Monday, October 28, 2019

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination.  Eliminate all Principles and Ethics?  (Sure  *hope*  not!)  But Eliminating, what stands in the way of an effective personal Code of Ethics makes sense.  But also look at our Word by itself.  For example, I am in the process of Eliminating, what I don't need any more in my Apartment.

Sunday, October 27, 2019

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 27, 2019

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance.  A Good Principle, includes the Ability to function by yourself.  But never forget, that there are others in this World also.  Keep them in mind.

Weekly Themes: Week of 10/27 to 11/02/2019

The Themes for this Week are Principles and Ethics.  Google says (among other things) that Ethics are "moral principles that govern a person's behavior".  Okay, the Definition of Ethics includes Principles.  So what does Google say about Principles?  Okay.  It says that a Principle is "a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning".  Hmmm...  Moral Principle?  But I  *have*  suggested, to people, to develop, and maintain their own, Code of Ethics.  Because, even if they borrow (say, from the Bible, or the Laws for their Country), they are responsible for them, in the end.

Word for the Day: Saturday, October 26, 2019

The Word for Yesterday [ahem!] was Expansion.  Expansive Salvation?  (Sure).  But be careful about excessive Expansion of the Middle of the Body, if excessive Food is eaten.

Friday, October 25, 2019

Words for the Day: Friday, October 25, 2019

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith.  We have Two Words, going with Two Themes.  And I connect them separately this time.  Someone would want to Salvage Trust, after Violating it earlier, for example.  And Know Well, that Trust  *has*  to be Earned.  It can't be  "demanded",  like Governments like to do, and  *This*  has been in our recent International News.

Now, separately, I  *will*  state that I personally have Faith in my own Salvation.  You can too.

Thursday, October 24, 2019

Word for the Day: Thursday, October 24, 2019

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude.  And, when (not if) I experience Salvation,  I  *definitely*  feel Gratitude.  Please note that Gratitude is one of my Favorite, of these Words because, in my opinion,  Gratitude helps the World go around.

Wednesday, October 23, 2019

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 23, 2019

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality.  Equality in Salvation?  (Googling it gives 8.9 million hits!)  But, in my opinion, don't shoot for Equality, be your Best!

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Word for the Day: Tuesday, October 22, 2019

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence.  According to definition, "Practicality in everyday affairs".  So what does it have to do with Salvation?  Isn't Salvation Practical?  Maybe I'm missing something -- I have before!

Monday, October 21, 2019

Word for the Day: Monday, October 21, 2019

The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence.  Salvaging Innocence?  (Isn't that what a Defendant is trying to do in a Criminal Trial?)  But Googling  "Salvation from Innocence"  gave me an article on the Requirements of Liturgical Truth.  Go figure!

Sunday, October 20, 2019

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 20, 2019

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness.  Salvage Forgiveness?  Forgive my Salvation?  (Hopefully not the second!)  But if you are "delivering yourself from harm",  Forgiving yourself might be one step.

Weekly Themes: Week of October 20-26, 2019

The Themes for this Week are Salvage and Salvation.  So what are the differences between these?  First off, you can Salvage an object, but Salvation comes across as more Personal:  According to Google, it is the "preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss".  So let's see how this fits in, with this Week's Words.

Saturday, October 19, 2019

Word for the Day: Saturday, October 19, 2019

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Authenticity.  So do Addictions have Certificates of Authenticity these days  (like, for instance, those  Plates you get from the Franklin Mint?)  What would a Counterfeit Addiction be like, anyway?  And finally, am I in a Crazy Mood?  (Some of these Words and Themes do that to me!)

Friday, October 18, 2019

Word for the Day: Friday, October 18, 2019

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation.  So  *how*  do we Interpret Addiction?  Leaving that question open, I  *will*  suggest that being an Interpreter can be an Awesome Career Choice.

Thursday, October 17, 2019

Word for the Day: Thursday, October 17, 2019

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization.  Socialized Addictions?  (And yes, people  *practice*  Addictive Behavior in Social Settings).  [or]  Addicted to Socialization?  (Okay, an example of the 2nd might be someone who is Addicted to something like Facebook).  And here is an example of a Theme / Word Combination, that I  *don't*  like!

Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 16, 2019

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration.  Concentrated Addictions?  (Dissolve in water?)  Concentrating on Addictions?  Now  *this*  one depends.  If Concentrating on overcoming the Addictions, I'm all for it.

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Word for the Day: Tuesday, October 15, 2019

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability.  Acceptable Addictions?  (Let's see:  Addicted to Water?  Horrible Symptoms if I don't drink any?)  The way I see it, is that if we are Acceptable to Ourselves, we don't need to rely on Addictive Behavior.  Think about it.

Monday, October 14, 2019

Word for the Day: Monday, October 14, 2019

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity.  Being Generous with our Addictions?  (It depends on what is meant by this).  What I see as most helpful, is to be Generous with ideas and insights, to mitigate the effects of the Addictions.

Sunday, October 13, 2019

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 13, 2019

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing.  Sharing our Addictions?  (Some obviously  *do*  this, but it doesn't make it right!)  But sharing enough of yourself so that, either others can assist you with your Addiction(s), or you can help others with theirs, makes some sense.  But whatever you do, Play Nice.

Weekly Theme: Week of October 13-19, 2019

The Theme for this Week is Addiction.  So what does it mean to be Addicted?  According to Google, it means to be "physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects".  What a mouthful!  But, for some people, this is their Life.  And the "rest of us", likely have Friends or Relatives that are Challenged by this.  And there is a lot, in the News about this Theme.  Good Luck to *all* of us!

Words for the Day: Saturday, October 12, 2019

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective.  And there is nothing, like the Big Picture View (which is what these add up to) to Simplify a Topic.  And the Simpler a Topic, the easier it is to Understand.

Friday, October 11, 2019

Word for the Day: Friday, October 11, 2019

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection.  Reflect Simplicity?  [or]  Simply Reflect?  (Not the same, by the way).  But one thing I've found, through the years, is how we, quite simply, reflect each other, showing each other Traits, they might, otherwise miss in themselves.  I consider this a Service, by the way.

Thursday, October 10, 2019

Word for the Day: Thursday, October 10, 2019

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study.  Study Simplification?  [or]  Simply Study?  (Both at different times?)  But *do* be Selective about what you Study, since there are so many Topics out there. (Google "list of College Majors" to see how overwhelming it can be, NOT to be selective!)

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 9, 2019

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption.  Absorption of Simplicity?  [or]  Simple Absorption?  (Hmmm...)  Absorption  *is*  a Simple way to learn.  Take, for example, the Immersion Training way of learning a Language.  Who needs Complexity anyway?

Tuesday, October 8, 2019

Word for the Day: Tuesday, October 8, 2019

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review.  A Simple Review?  [or]  Review of Simplicity?  (Not the same!)  But  *do*  note that Reviews do  *not*  need to be Complex.  You would be doing a Review, for example, if you check your Shopping Lists, with what you brought home from the local Stores.  Another Simple Review I heartily recommend, is to go over your day, before going to bed at night, to see how it went, what went well, and where improvement might be in order.

Monday, October 7, 2019

Word for the Day: Monday, October 7, 2019

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation.  Simple Experiments?  (Why not?)  Why not do what I am doing right now?  Making  "Simplifying my Life"  the experiment in itself?  Of course, if your Life is simple already, no problem.

Sunday, October 6, 2019

Word for the Day: Sunday, October 6, 2019

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition.  Recognizing when something is Simple?  (Usually, we are more likely to Recognize Complexities).  But you can do well, to Recognize what makes your life Simpler.

Weekly Theme: Week of October 6-12, 2019

The Theme for this Week is Simplification.  Simplify?  Now THAT'S a Theme I can get behind, as Life has, in my opinion, gotten quite Complex, if not Complicated.  So what does Google say about Simplify?  Simple! (lol!)  Among other things, it means to make something "easier to do or understand".  And this can be a Simple Post.

Saturday, October 5, 2019

Word for the Day: Saturday, October 5, 2019

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve.  "I Resolve to Not Sacrifice my Resolve!"  (Okay, I tied both meanings of Today's Word with our Theme).  One thing I like pointing out, for this Word, is that Resolutions can be made Anytime, not just at the New Years.

Friday, October 4, 2019

Word for the Day: Friday, October 4, 2019

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage.  Sacrificing Courage?  (Please don't).  [or]  Courage to Sacrifice?  (Can be, depending on Context).  But the one, remaining question:  Do you have the Courage to be Yourself?

Thursday, October 3, 2019

Words for the Day: Thursday, October 3, 2019

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment.  Do you Know your own Strength?  Do you Feel Empowered?  And do you feel Empowered enough to be able to Sacrifice things, that don't work well in your Life?  Think about it!

Wednesday, October 2, 2019

Word for the Day: Wednesday, October 2, 2019

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence.  Sacrificing your Competence?  (Please don't!)  But when you live your life competently, that includes knowing when to Sacrifice and when not to.  The most important thing to do, of course, is to be Competent to be Yourself.

Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Word for the Day: Tuesday, October 1, 2019

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance.  Sacrificing Endurance?  (Some people may be happy).  Conducting yourself, so that you Endure without needing to Sacrifice (at least much) might be something to shoot for.  Why not?
