Words for the Day: Thursday, April 30, 2015

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. Do you know your own strength? Do you feel empowered? Now, does your answer change, if you bring in your home situation? (For example, "knowing your own strength" can keep you from being arrested for domestic violence, or child abuse). In my opinion, aggression and violence are two different topics.

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 29, 2015

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. Are you competent to run a household? (Some might even ask, "Are you competent to BE in a household?") The problem? Unfortunately, this is a valid question, based on how widespread domestic violence is. And the widespread use of alcohol and street drugs doesn't help this situation.

My feeling? Mutual respect, and great communication (including, of course, children, if any) are the antidotes, to domestic violence.

Word for the Day: Tuesday, April 28, 2015

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. And all I need to do is to recall my upbringing, to find a LOT of "domestic situations", which were a challenge to endure. Want to build up endurance? One technique I recommend is Yoga.

Monday, April 27, 2015

Word for the Day: Monday, April 27, 2015

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. Obviously, this fits in, with a "domestic environment", in many ways. However, I wish to submit that alternative ways the concept of fertility can be used, such as a fertile imagination, also fits in, well with domestic considerations.

Weekly Theme: Week of April 26 - May 2, 2015

The Theme for this Week is Domestication.  The simplest meaning?  The act of making someone feel at home.  There are other, more complex definitions, including changing the genetic makeup of an animal or species, so that it's more friendly around human beings.  What do I think?  Perhaps this is an opportunity for me to tame myself.  :-)

Saturday, April 25, 2015

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 25, 2015

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. This one is easy to tie to our Theme, because, in my opinion, Health can be considered a Release from illness.

In general, when you feel stuck in life, look around, and, just maybe, you might find a Release Lever somewhere in your Reality.

Friday, April 24, 2015

Word for the Day: Friday, April 24, 2015

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. As I threatened yesterday, I first want to point out special "health related" definitions for Aspiration. For example, there's "Pulmonary Aspiration" which, quite simply is a technical way of describing the painful, as well as embarrassing process of "inhaling your food". And then, in a hospital setting, a doctor may "aspirate fluid" from somewhere in your body (which occurred to me, in 1982, when I suffered from Pneumothorax. Trust me, when I tell you that you probably do NOT want to experience Chest Tubes, anytime in your life).

All that said, I prefer the meaning, where I aspire to be the healthiest, that I can.

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 23, 2015

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. Contrast is important, in the topic of Health (as well as the rest of your life), because too little contrast can get boring, which could lead to apathy, even in how you treat your body. However, too much contrast can be scary, leading to anxiety (even anxiety attacks, which are VERY unhealthy). This sort of fear can also lead to "knee jerk reactions" such as, including in some high profile cases, a woman submitting to an operation to remove parts of her body, just due to fears that, just because her ancestors suffered from Cancer, she "would have to, also". Remember, folks: It's YOUR body, not your ancestors', that you have to live in!

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 22, 2015

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability. My feeling is that this, also known as flexibility, is a very healthy trait. Why? For example, an inflexible person might be scared to death of bacteria, even to the extreme of regularly taking prescription antibiotics. This policy ignores the fact that there are very beneficial bacteria that assist us, in one major example, in our body's digestive function. Therefore, killing all bacteria in a human body (which a strong antibiotic might do), is considered an unhealthy act.

Words for the Day: Tuesday, April 21, 2015

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. I believe these tie in, strongest with our Theme, as INDICATORS of Good Health. But if anybody wants to develop them, I suggest Yoga, as one, excellent technique.

Monday, April 20, 2015

Word for the Day: Monday, April 20, 2015

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. Some acceleration can be healthy, such as accelerated spiritual development, accelerated exercise routines, and the accelerated comprehension, that can come from reading good books. But some acceleration might actually hinder health, such as excessive acceleration of a motor vehicle say, by too much use of an accelerator pedal, which can lead to, either injuries to the body (in case of accidents), or injuries to the pocketbook (due to traffic tickets).

Sunday, April 19, 2015

Word for the Day: Sunday, April 19, 2015

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance. Many people say, "Patience is a Virtue". Not only that, but it's healthy too, because there is less stress involved. Tolerance helps here also, including tolerating body sensations you are not used to, at least until you know what is really occurring. For example, when performing actions you are not used to, you may find you are exercising muscles you may not have even known you have (like, for example, the first time I rode on horseback). Please note that, without this tolerance, you might go to a doctor's office to complain about the new-found pain.

Weekly Theme: Week of April 19-15, 2015

The Theme for this Week is Health.  There is more than one form of health, such as physical health, mental and/or emotional health, and spiritual health.  People may also discuss health of objects, such as computers or home appliances.  So stay healthy!

Saturday, April 18, 2015

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 18, 2015

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. And I regularly acknowledge those, who perform service on my behalf. Please note that it takes knowledge to acknowledge.

Friday, April 17, 2015

Word for the Day: Friday, April 17, 2015

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. Be kind to everybody, even (or especially?) those who are of service to you. By the way, this is one of my favorite Words.

Thursday, April 16, 2015

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 16, 2015

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. Sometimes, a little encouragement can be a great form of Service. Especially when someone is JUST THAT close to finishing a project.

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 15, 2015

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. Full of thought? Thinking, before speaking and/or acting? How better, to be of service to others (as well as yourself), and with fewer mistakes?

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Word for the Day: Tuesday, April 14, 2015

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. Providing support to another is a GREAT form of Service. And, if we're regularly serving, and providing support to others? Guess what? Others could easily be encouraged to provide us with service and support. What goes around, comes around.

Monday, April 13, 2015

Word for the Day: Monday, April 13, 2015

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. And providing comfort to others (especially if they don't usually experience it, perhaps due to an illness or injury), is QUITE a service.

Sunday, April 12, 2015

Word for the Day: Sunday, April 12, 2015

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. And what better service to give, than to provide nourishing and (hopefully) delicious food to someone who needs it?

Weekly Theme: Week of April 12-18, 2015

The Theme for this Week is Service.  Of course, there are the definitions you would get, if you plug "define service" into Google. Like "helping another person", or the "service industry", as opposed to the "product industry".  What helps me to understand the concept of service, is the word, Agape. In other words, Service, without any thought of anything in return.  A personal example, was being the first, at the scene of an Injury Accident, giving first aid, after calling 911.  It's just something I would hope others would also do.

Saturday, April 11, 2015

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 11, 2015

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. Depending on the project, completion of it COULD lead to prosperity. This could include things like books, movies, and web sites. (Note that completion of others, such as crimes, even if they SEEM to lead to prosperity, they can lead to severe consequences, such as prison).

Friday, April 10, 2015

Word for the Day: Friday, April 10, 2015

The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. Liberation FROM completion [say, of a project]? Or Liberation, BECAUSE you completed a project? I feel better, with the second version, especially if I considered it a failure, not being able to complete the project (from the first version).

Thursday, April 9, 2015

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 9, 2015

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Wisdom. It not only takes wisdom, to get insight into the best way to complete projects, but to prioritize those projects, so as to know which ones TO complete.

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 8, 2015

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. Impartially complete a project? Complete the development of the trait of Impartiality? (My opinion, is that this is not an easy trait to develop, but the process is worth it).

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Word for the Day: Tuesday, April 7, 2015

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. And there are, of course, consequences, to completing tasks and/or projects. However, please note that there are ALSO consequences to FAILING to complete what you start.

Monday, April 6, 2015

Word for the Day: Monday, April 6, 2015

The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination. And, in NO way, do I feel it's right to eliminate completion. Instead, I feel this means, more that we need to eliminate, what stands IN THE WAY of completing, say, projects we are working on.

Sunday, April 5, 2015

Word for the Day: Sunday, April 5, 2015

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. Completing projects may not be easy, but self-reliance does help.

Weekly Theme: Week of April 5-11, 2015

The Theme for this Week is Completion.  The definition of this Theme couldn't be simpler:  "The action or process of finishing something".  Now, just because something is simple, does not make it easy, as I have found, through the years, that it's a lot easier to begin projects, than it is to complete them.

Saturday, April 4, 2015

Word for the Day: Saturday, April 4, 2015

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. Expanded Vision? Vision of Expansion? Both of those are fine. But be careful about "expansion around the middle", usually caused by, "too much delicious food". :-)

Friday, April 3, 2015

Words for the Day: Friday, April 3, 2015

The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. Trusting your Vision? Visions of Faith? But be selective, because Trust must be earned, and Faith should not be blind (which would be a total LACK of Vision, by the way).

When I was a child, a mom/pop Hardware store had a sign: "In God we Trust. All Others Pay Cash!"

Thursday, April 2, 2015

Word for the Day: Thursday, April 2, 2015

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. Vision of Gratitude? Gratitude to the Universe, for the awesome Visions I've gotten, through the years? I most certainly feel that!

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Word for the Day: Wednesday, April 1, 2015

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. Equality of vision? Vision of equality? Now, my own vision of equality has Equal Opportunity in it but not, say, forced conformity.
