Word for the Day: Monday, February 29, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. This is a good day, to look at your list of Organizations, and determine which ones deserve further due.

Word for the Day: Sunday, February 28, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. Sharing your Union? Sharing the STATE of your Union? (In other words, discussing the health of your body)? How about a Union, of people who share? I think I like that one best.

Weekly Theme: Week of 02/28 to 03/05/2016

The Theme for this Week is Union.  We hear variations, of the following sentence, every January, in front of a Joint Session of Congress:  "The State of our Union is Strong".  There's also a Sunday Morning show, on CNN, called, "State of the Union".  So, everyone's concerned about, what, the State (Health)?  --  of our Union?  But do people even know what the word, "Union" mean?  I had to go to Google for that:  I see two categories of meanings:  The first, shows one reason people, elsewhere in the World have trouble learning English.  It's a "Noun, about a Verb":   "the action or fact of joining or being joined, especially in a political context".  (See, the "noun" is "action", about a verb, "join".  As far as I know, there isn't a derivative of "union", that's a verb, only derivatives of synonyms.  For example, a verb "Merge", the related noun, "Merger" which, as far as I can tell, is a direct synonym of Union).  Now, the 2nd meaning is easier to understand:  "Collective Bargaining", best known, in the usage of "Labor Union".  But this fits our Theme better, anyway.

Feel free to comment on this.  This BLOG even allows "anonymous comments".  (The reason I can allow this, is that I must moderate, anyway, against SPAM Bots.  But I haven't, yet, disallowed a comment, just because I disagreed with it).

Words for the Day: Saturday, February 27, 2016

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. These, together, make up the "Big Picture view", as well as the "Executive Summary", all of which help with our theme, "Integration".

Friday, February 26, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, February 26, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. First, the combination I have a bit of trouble with: "Integrating your Reflection". Does this require multiple mirrors?  :-)

How about "Reflecting on Integration"? It *is* a topic, that appears to require some study (yesterday's Word) and review (last Tuesday's Word). The key to integration seems to be the ability to embrace people, things and ideas, different from what you might be comfortable with.

Thursday, February 25, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, February 25, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. Now, I'm sure I'll get a hit on Google, if I put in "Integrated Study". Let's see... Goodness! There's even a "Bachelor of Integrated Studies", available at some Universities in the US and Canada! It sounds awesome, because it appears to allow one, to design their own Undergraduate Degree, and what it requires. What a concept!

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 24, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. So how does one Integrate Absorption? (I don't have an answer. I just brought it up). However, Absorbing Integration makes, at least some sense. Integration is where you combine people, places or things, regardless of "differences". In other words, to use a famous acronym from Star Trek, IDIC (Infinite Diversity, Infinite Combinations). (And if I want to joke about this combination, I might bring up "integrating sponges").  :-)

Tuesday, February 23, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, February 23, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Study. Studying Integration? (Like what our experiences, as a country was, integrating school districts, for example? That works). Integrated Study? (Studying a major topic, by simultaneously studying the sub-topics that make it up? That also works). One word about Study: Be selective about what you study, as any topic you choose could turn into a multi-year project.

Word for the Day: Monday, February 22, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation. So let's experiment with Integration. So what does it mean to you, when there is diversity in the groups, that you attend? Are they already heavily diverse, or do they tend to attract people who look, and/or "think" alike? (Feel free to comment...)

I absolutely love this Word, because I'm a scientist, both by training, and at heart. Life, for me, is one, big experiment.

Word for the Day: Sunday, February 21, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition. So are we recognizing Integration? Are we integrating recognition? And yes, some of these "integrate" better, than others.

Weekly Theme: Week of February 21-27, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Integration.  What?  As opposed to Segregation?  According to Google, to integrate, is to combine one thing with another.  We'll see how this works, with the Words for the days of this week.  Thank you.

Word for the Day: Saturday, February 20, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. I most certainly "resolve to survive". And my "resolve will definitely survive".

The other thing to realize: New Years is NOT the only time of year, to make Resolutions. They can be made anytime.

Friday, February 19, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, February 19, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage. And yes, it takes Courage to Survive. Quite a bit of it, actually. From some YouTube videos I've seen, whether directly, or on clip shows such as, in this case, "TruTV Presents Worlds Dumbest Daredevils", the best "survival response", which can take quite a BIT of courage (due to how strong "peer pressure" can be), is the courage to say, not only "No", but "Hell No!!!". Be safe.

Words for the Day: Thursday, February 18, 2016

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. I brought up some good questions, in my "Teaser", in yesterday's Comment: "Do you Know your own Strength?" Indeed, everybody has strengths, based on their heredity, upbringing, education and, possibly most importantly, life experience. And there are tools out there, to help you to find where your personal power lies. Now, to the other question: "Do you feel Empowered?" Well, do you? This is related, but not identical to the other question. Because "personal Power" is also related to things, such as "Life Experience". This is also related to our Theme, Survival, because strong, and empowered people "tend to" survive easier and better but, in addition, tend to lead higher quality lives. (Don't ask me why, especially tonight [LOL!], but it seems to follow).

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 17, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. And let's hope that this, third try, meets the criteria, "Third Time's a Charm". Competence, Schlompetence! :-D

People DO need "competence skills", to survive, especially on a planet, as treacherous as this one. What other planet would have people, trying to cut down Tropical Rain Forests, just for "Short Term Financial Gain", without ANY regard for what our Children, Grand Children, and Great Grand Children might encounter. (And don't these idiots know that, removing several square miles of Vegetation, causes a BUNCH more Global Warming, than mere burning of "Fossile Fuels". Because all that Vegetation is WHAT TURNS CARBON DIOXIDE INTO OXYGEN!!!) In other words, stupider than a Box of Hair. Because, even if they become a Billionaire, is THAT going to help them be comfortable, on a Dead Planet?

Word for the Day: Tuesday, February 16, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. And you most certainly need to Endure life, at the same time as you are Surviving it. See, Endurance training is different from a normal, say, conventional Gym Workout, where you may do all the same over and over, and try to improve your times, from the last time.

The Endurance Training that I am referring to, is a more generalized Aerobics style workout, with Yoga mixed in (and I mean a LOT more than, simply, the usual Hatha Yoga. I typically would mix in some Kundalini Yoga exercises also, for example). Mix in a few Calisthenics, and you have it made. Good luck, folks!

Monday, February 15, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, February 15, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. And this goes with Survival, at least for our "Species", because that requires a level of fertility, in its best known connotation. But remember that there are other uses of the word. My favorite usage is, "to have a fertile imagination".

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, February 14, 2016

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability. In my opinion, a "stable environment" is conducive to "quantity of life", but you need more, to get to "quality of life".

Weekly Theme: Week of February 14-20, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Survival.  I consider Survival to represent "quantity of life", because if that "quantity" runs out, the result is a topic, that does NOT occur in our Themes and Words, "Death".  So, that said, what represents, "quality of life"?  I refer you to a two-word phrase, "Value Fulfillment", with an awesome and thought provoking website, describing it.  How will this combine with the Words for this Week?  We shall see.

Saturday, February 13, 2016

Word for the Day: Saturday, February 13, 2016

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. Are you stuck? Do you need a "Release Lever" in your life? Well, Manifest it!   :-)

Seriously, a lot of things you need, can easily be manifested, if you have the courage to be "ruthlessly honest" with yourself.

Friday, February 12, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, February 12, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. So do you Aspire to Manifest, or Manifest Aspiration? Probably some of both. However, I like the first, where I aspire to effectively manifest in my life. Now, be careful of the term, Aspiration, as there are medical meanings for this, as you can find, submitting "define aspiration" to Google.

Thursday, February 11, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, February 11, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. So, my friends, "manifesting Contrast" is something we ALL do, but don't necessarily consider "good". However, I specialize in such things, and embrace them, when they occur. By the way, the best "answer" to the question, "how much Contrast is best" is, "depends on the individual, because too little contrast can get boring, yet too much can be, downright frightening!"

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 10, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability. Adaptable Manifestation? Manifesting Adaptability? Since Adaptability is a synonym for Flexibility, it sounds like an awesome trait to manifest. And remember: The Flexible person adapts to his/her surroundings. The Inflexible person "requests" that his/her surroundings adapt to him/her!

Tuesday, February 9, 2016

Words for the Day: Tuesday, February 9, 2016

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. So how would one manifest Agility and Grace? My top vote would be Yoga. That, and going on a Labyrinth walk. (Look it up on Google. There's lots of information out there). Good luck, folks!

Monday, February 8, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, February 8, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. Accelerated Manifestation? Why not! It actually works that way, already. Just be conscious about what you want!

Sunday, February 7, 2016

Word for the Day: Sunday, February 7, 2016

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance, both of which are EXTREMELY important to manifesting things in your life. For example, you need to be Patient, because things often don't occur say, on the same day you first "ask for it". And you need to be Tolerant, because the "details" of your Manifestation may look a bit "different", than what you Thought it would look like.

Weekly Theme: Week of February 7-13, 2016

The Theme for this Week is Manifestation.  So what does it mean to "manifest something"?  For that matter, what does the word, Manifestation even mean?  Fortunately, we can ask Google, whose first response is "an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea".  Okay, that came across a bit confusing.  The "new age" meaning, is possibly closer to what I am looking for, in this BLOG entry:  "Encouraging something awesome to come into your life".  Materializing is a synonym to that version of the meaning.  And there are some great Daily Words, to go with this Theme.  Keep in touch, to see them develop.  Thanks!

Word for the Day: Saturday, February 6, 2016

The Word for "Today" (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. I fully acknowledge that I was so overwhelmed, by the purchase of a new, Samsung Cellphone, that I am late, putting in Saturday's Word for the Day. That completed, please acknowledge your Patrons, all you "Owner, supported Organizations out there". And TO the Patrons, acknowledge the Organizations you support. To both sides, don't take the other side for granted! The world doesn't operate on automatic, folks.

Friday, February 5, 2016

Word for the Day: Friday, February 5, 2016

The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. This also works best, when applied equally in both directions. Patrons are kind to their organizations, and the organizations are kind to their patrons (or sponsors). But kindness in universal, you see. Just spread it. Please!

Thursday, February 4, 2016

Word for the Day: Thursday, February 4, 2016

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. If you're a patron of, say, a Public Radio or TV Station, of a Public Library, a local Symphony Orchestra or Opera House, or related organizations, show some encouragement! Donate, if you are able. Tell your friends and family. Don't take them for granted or they might actually go away. (I personally lost a perfectly good listener-supported radio station in Seattle, because the station's funding went down and they were susceptible to a buyout offer from a commercial Rock Music station. Went away, cold turkey!)

Wednesday, February 3, 2016

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 3, 2016

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. Just like yesterday, this works in both directions. Organizations can be thoughtfulness to their Patrons, and people who patronize organizations (including websites) can also think, be thoughtful, about how they, say, describe those organizations to others. Remember that thoughtfulness, means thinking, before speaking and/or acting.

Tuesday, February 2, 2016

Word for the Day: Tuesday, February 2, 2016

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. "Support your local Patron". Since patrons support (often in many ways) firms, (including organizations and corporations), that is a "level of support" in one direction. My opening statement suggests that "support goes both ways". In other words [spoken to, say, restaurants], don't take your "regulars" for granted! Yesterday, I suggested one reason (uncomfortable chairs) that I may switch to [in this case], a different restaurant.

Monday, February 1, 2016

Word for the Day: Monday, February 1, 2016

The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. Several "cycles" ago (other times, in the past, where Patronage met Comfort), it occurred to me that small investments in, say, comfortable chairs, could get people happier to, say, "eat in at a restaurant". I know I'd consigned a few, Seattle area Thai Restaurants to "Take Out Only", due to hard benches, with no back support. Yes, folks, the little things DO count!
