Word for the Day: Friday, February 28, 2014

The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. If you learn how to THINK in more than one language, it is fantastic because, in addition to having a wonderful career path, you have more than one pathway through your mind, which can help with both mental and spiritual development.

Word for the Day: Thursday, February 27, 2014

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. Connecting this to Addictions (our Theme) is troubling, because people often "act out" addictions in groups, who share the same addiction. For example, people who are addicted to alcohol have these structures they go to, oh yes, BARS!

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 26, 2014

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration. Concentrating on something is akin to making a priority of it. That includes our Theme, addictions. For example, I have spent time with people who are addicted to cigarettes. If they run out, they will "move mountains", if needed, to get more. (Yes, I remember a friend violating a weather-related travel prohibition, to get more cigarettes. Boy, what concentration. Ouch!)

Word for the Day: Tuesday, February 25, 2014

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. So how would one define an "acceptable addiction"? What is an addiction anyway? There is talk of "physical addictions", such as to Heroin and Cigarettes. Well, aren't we ALL "addicted" to air and water? Think about it.

Word for the Day: Monday, February 24, 2014

The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity.  What does Generosity mean?  Here's Wikipedia's take on it. The part that surprises me, is "the habit of giving without expecting anything in return".  Why does that surprise me?  Because it's what I thought the meaning was of the word, "agape", a form of unconditional love.

Whatever its meaning, I consider it one force (along with Gratitude, next week Thursday's Word) that helps the World go around.

Sunday, February 23, 2014

Word for the Day: Sunday, February 23rd, 2014

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing.  Share and share alike, I say.  Unless it's an addiction!  But what do we want to share?  How about experiences in overcoming some of these addictions?  Thank you very much!

Weekly Theme: Week of February 23 to March 1, 2014

The Theme for this Week is Addiction.  First off, here is what Wikipedia says about the subject including, "continued repetition of a behavior, despite adverse consequences".  So why would this be a Weekly Theme, in the Michael system?  I'm asking the same question.

Words for the Day: Saturday, February 22, 2014

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. This is the big picture view (or Executive Summary) of life, which fits our Theme well, Simplification, because executives love things to be simple.

Friday, February 21, 2014

Word for the Day: Friday, February 21, 2014

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. A simple reflection? Look in the mirror. Does your body come across as simple or complex? (In my case, both). Mirrors are wonderful contraptions and, according to Wikipedia, have been around since at least 6000 BC! Some people are even afraid of them, with fear of mirrors called Spectrophobia.

Thursday, February 20, 2014

Word for the Day: Thursday, February 20, 2014

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. Simple Study? Why not: Good study habits ARE often simple, one meaning of which is to not get side-tracked by, say, side-bars in the textbook, which are less likely to show up on tests.

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 19, 2014

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. This is where you get to "be like a sponge". And it is a simple way of learning. (One example is a way to learn other languages: Immersion training, where the only language spoken in the class is the one you're learning).

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Word for the Day: Tuesday, February 18, 2014

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review. Simplified Review? Actually, review doesn't HAVE to be very complex, especially if you don't wait so long, after the event in question that you forget what happened.

Monday, February 17, 2014

Word for the Day: Monday, February 17, 2014

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation. Experiments in Simplification (say, of life itself)? How about Simplified Experiments (which helped people get better grades in the High School Chemistry class)? Both work, in my opinion.

Sunday, February 16, 2014

Word for the Day: Sunday, February 16, 2014

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition.  Recognizing simplicity?  Simple recognition?  I think both.

Weekly Theme: Week of February 16-22, 2014

The Theme for this Week is Simplification.  First off, something I heard, in my "personal growth classes" days:  "Life is simple, People make it complicated".

In my case, I love cities, but there seem to be a lot of "moving parts" to them.  I just moved to a smaller town, which is simpler.  Which is better?  I'm still investigating this.

Saturday, February 15, 2014

Word for the Day: Saturday, February 15, 2014

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. Resolve to Sacrifice (bringing our Theme in)? Yes, if it's a resolution to sacrifice an unfortunate habit. However, I'm not sure of going the other way: I'd need to see some good examples, before going with something like, "sacrifice your resolve".

Friday, February 14, 2014

Word for the Day: Friday, February 14, 2014

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage.  The courage to sacrifice? How about courage to sacrifice a bad habit, that is hard to break (i.e. smoking), even though it's something a person likes SO MUCH?

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Words for the Day: Thursday, February 13, 2014

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. Do you know your own strength? Do you feel empowered?

Now, another "mental exercise": Would you *Sacrifice* that physical strength? In my case, I sacrificed physical development (i.e. working out in a Gym) for mental (i.e. the computer field) and spiritual development. (And then, had to "compensate" for the occasional [hopefully!] "pratfalls").

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 12, 2014

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. Theme?  Sacrifice competence?  Actually, I like "Be competent to sacrifice wisely".  Also, in general, I suggest being competent to be yourself.

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Word for the Day: Tuesday, February 11, 2014

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance.  So what are you enduring today?  Weather?  (And yes, some areas not "normally" expected to, are enduring ice and snow).  Sacrifice endurance?  Well, perhaps to take up a different sport, such as sprinting, though this might not be the best approach.  Finally, for those who wish to improve endurance, I recommend Yoga.

Monday, February 10, 2014

Word for the Day: Monday, February 10, 2014

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility.  How does this fit with our Theme?  One way is to sacrifice fertility (i.e. having a family), to allow for, say, careers for both parts of, for example, a married couple.  In some cases, after both have become successful, they then have a child.

Sunday, February 9, 2014

Word for the Day: Sunday, February 9, 2014

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability.  Sacrifice stability?  Could be, if what you're sacrificing it for, is something you want, for example, adventure.  Beyond that, I'll let you ponder the implications.  Thank you!

Weekly Theme: Week of February 9-15, 2014

The Theme for this Week is Sacrifice.  Interesting:  Wikipedia has an article on this, mainly for religious sacrifices, but with a short mention of "selfless good deeds". In the Michael Teachings, this is the Positive Pole of the Chief Feature of Self-Destruction.

I'm sure it will be "fun", combining this with this week's Words.  :-)

Saturday, February 8, 2014

Word for the Day: Saturday, February 8, 2014

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release.  Do you feel stuck at times?  Even so much, that it might feel like being in a box?  Look around the scene you are in.  Perhaps there is something, faintly labeled a "Release Lever"?  (The label is not always readable, but there's usually something available, to let you out of scenarios you don't feel good in).

Friday, February 7, 2014

Word for the Day: Friday, February 7, 2014

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration.  Always aspire to be your personal best.  Why?  Well, who would want to aspire to mediocrity, for example?  This has to do with goals, regarding what to do in your life.  (And yes, I know there are other meanings of this Word, including medical meanings.  But I am pretty sure where this is "supposed" to be going).  Thank you.

Thursday, February 6, 2014

Word for the Day: Thursday, February 6, 2014

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. Remember how, on a [usually older] TV set, it was a good idea to find the right contrast level, or your picture would be, either "blah", or "rough and edgy"? Guess what? It's also important in life, because too little contrast can seem boring, while too much contrast can get downright scary at times. So, if you're in the midst of a contrast issue, look around your reality, and you might, just find a contrast knob. You actually have MUCH more say in your reality, than you might think.

Word for the Day: Wednesday, February 5, 2014

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability.  Another word for this is Flexibility.  This is a fantastic trait to have, in any case, but definitely, if you are in the "Prophecy trade".  Why?  For one thing, the information that comes to prophets can change frequently.  Their opinions (which can block the information they get) change less frequently.

Here is a saying I heard, way back:  "The flexible person adapts to his/her environment.  The inflexible person asks his/her environment to adapt to him/her".

Words for the Day: Tuesday, February 4, 2014

The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace.  So how do these Words go together?  If you look at Wikipedia, they seem pretty far apart.  The page for Agility suggests nimbleness, yet the page for Grace gives a Christian definition. Fortunately, Google comes to the rescue, because it's definition also includes "simple elegance or refinement of movement".

Monday, February 3, 2014

Word for the Day: Monday, February 3, 2014

The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration.  The benefits of this Word depend on context.  For example, spiritual acceleration sounds fine to me.  But acceleration in a motor vehicle requires caution, because too much might attract the attention of law enforcement personnel.  And it doesn't even fit, perfectly with our Theme as, in my opinion, effective prophecy required taking your time.

Sunday, February 2, 2014

Words for the Day: Sunday, February 2, 2014

The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance.  And if you happen to be called upon for the task of Prophesy, both of these traits appear to be mandatory.

Weekly Theme: Week of February 2-8, 2014

The Theme for this Week is Prophecy.  When investigating, I found a Wikipedia page. In effect, it seems that Prophecy means truth (at least hopefully the truth) coming from unusual sources.  Let's see how this develops, this week.

Saturday, February 1, 2014

Word for the Day: Saturday, February 1, 2014

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement.  My connection to the Theme is that I happily acknowledge those who have encouraged me to take good care of myself, such that I don't get physically disabled.  This includes my late Mother, who not only suggested that I say no to drugs, but also that I say no to skiing.  It seems I have body coordination issues, that would make things like skiing and motorcycling harder.
