Word for the Day: Friday, January 8, 2015

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. What does it mean to reflect? First off, it takes clarity, which is why mirrors are made of transparent substances, such as glass. And why a clear lake can be like a mirror. The opposite of transparent is opaque, by the way, which is why a lump of coal would make a poor mirror. But the same substance, perfected, is a diamond, and I remember the concept of Diamond Mirrors, at museums.
