Word for the Day: Monday, November 30, 2015
The Word for Today (Monday) is Innocence. Innocent conversation? (I'm combining my Themes). Conversation about innocence? How about innocent people, having a dialogue with each other? Lots can be done with this, of course.

Word for the Day: Sunday, November 29, 2015
The Word for Today (Sunday) is Forgiveness. Forgive my dialogue? Of course, when I "ramble too much", when I talk. (At least I'm improving!) Forgive my Intercourse? That's a bit more touchy but, if you look closer at the Themes, you'll see the first definition of Intercourse is Communication. It's only in the SECOND definition, that the best known connotation of Sexual Intercourse is brought up. But I guess there could be multiple reasons, to have to apologize for that. :-)
Weekly Themes: Week of 11/29 - 12/05/2015
The Themes for this Week are Intercourse and Dialogue. Do you know, that "meaning number one", from doing "define intercourse", on Google, gives "communication or dealings between individuals or groups"? Only on "meaning number two", does it mention that "intercourse" could be "short", for "sexual intercourse"? Please note that the term, "social intercourse" also exists, which brings in the second Theme, Dialogue, which also means communication (though Google says "conversation").

Word for the Day: Saturday, November 28, 2015
The Word for Today (Saturday) is Authenticity. Authentic humor? (So what would counterfeit humor be? Plagiarism of another comic?) In my opinion, the most authentic humor, is where the comic is being himself (or even when they are playing a role, but playing it, in a way that it SEEMS authentic, like Stephen Colbert, on his older show. He comes across a lot more authentic, on his new show on CBS: The Late Show with Stephen Colbert).

Word for the Day: Friday, November 27, 2015
The Word for Today (Friday) is Interpretation. Interpreting humor (our Theme) can be tricky, because a joke, in one language, could be a serious insult, in another. So, when telling a joke, it is important to know your audience.
Thursday, November 26, 2015
Word for the Day: Thursday, November 26, 2015
The Word for Today (Thursday) is Socialization. And today (Thanksgiving) is a great time to socialize. But keep it light and humorous.
Wednesday, November 25, 2015
Word for the Day: Wednesday, November 25, 2015
The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Concentration. Concentrated Humor? (As opposed to Diluted Humor? LOL!) Or is it, to "concentrate" on keeping a good "sense of humor"? In my opinion, both of these are important.
Tuesday, November 24, 2015
Word for the Day: Tuesday, November 24, 2015
The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Acceptability. So what is acceptable humor? I can say, in my opinion, what is NOT: Beating someone over the head, and laughing about it. But there are some rather wonderful comics, that I consider totally acceptable, including one I am watching on TV right now: Stephen Colbert.

Word for the Day: Monday, November 23, 2015
The Word for Today (Monday) is Generosity. This, by itself, could heal our world's financial system, if it were properly practiced. And, when combined with Humor, perhaps some of the philosophical misunderstandings, between different religions, might be resolvable.
Sunday, November 22, 2015
Word for the Day: Sunday, November 22, 2015
The Word for Today (Sunday) is Sharing. And what better to share with others, than a good sense of humor?
Weekly Theme: Week of November 22-28, 2015
The Theme for this Week is Humor. As far as I can tell, humor is one of the most universal themes in the world. No matter what the language is, in a country, there is likely to be humor, comedy and joke telling. In fact, the only places I've seen anything, approaching a complete lack of humor, are a handful of fictional accounts of dystopian scenarios, most notably 1984, by George Orwell. So let's hear it for Humor!

Word for the Day: Saturday, November 21, 2015
The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective. These, together help make up the 'big picture view", which helps in SO many ways, including with our Theme: Mediation. In effect, to be an competent Mediator, you NEED to know the big picture view, of what's occurring on both sides of, say, a dispute.
Friday, November 20, 2015
Word for the Day: Friday, November 20, 2015
The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection. This can be an important part of Mediation, as you reflect, carefully, on what's going on, with both sides of the dispute in question. Please note that there's another connotation to Reflection, as we are "mirrors to each other" in life.
Thursday, November 19, 2015
Word for the Day: Thursday, November 19, 2015
The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study. Based on what I see in the news, it appears to me, that a profitable and rewarding topic, to study would be Mediation, as people, qualified to perform those duties seem few and far between.
Wednesday, November 18, 2015
Word for the Day: Wednesday, November 18, 2015
The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption. And let's not "absorb our Mediators", please. From what I see on the news, mediators are needed now, more than ever. But I can see some use for Absorption Training, to help teach people to be better mediators. Put them in simulations of what might occur, in their field, or even have them give their own answers to real-world situations. (However, I see this form of teaching, more with foreign languages, in what is known as Language Immersion).
Tuesday, November 17, 2015
Word for the Day: Tuesday, November 17, 2015
The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review. We can keep our Theme in mind, in two directions. Either review where Mediation has gotten us, in whatever grouping we belong to. Or review where we are now, perhaps without ENOUGH Mediation, to see if it can help us decrease, or end our War footing? Please note, that there will be a related, but different Theme, three weeks from now: Diplomacy. I believe both of these are better than actual war.
Monday, November 16, 2015
Word for the Day: Monday, November 16, 2015
The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation. Perhaps, if more countries experimented with Mediation, they would have less use, for their standing armies.
Sunday, November 15, 2015
Word for the Day: Sunday, November 15, 2015
The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition. I recognize those, who have helped me to be who I am now. I also recognize how important Mediation is, in the world today.
Weekly Theme: Week of November 15-21, 2015
The Theme for this Week is Mediation. Submitting "define mediation" to Google gives some information, such as, "Intervention in a dispute in order to resolve it". It also gives a synonym, "arbitration". This comes up in our news, frequently, where Mediation is considered a less extreme option, than War, to resolve a "dispute". Let us hope this is always the case.
Saturday, November 14, 2015
Word for the Day: Saturday, November 14, 2015
The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve. So does Cooperation help develop resolve? Or do we resolve, as individuals to better cooperate with others? Both? I think so, also. We can see, here, that cooperation can occur, between countries, also. And that terrorist acts don't automatically lower the collective resolve.
