Words for the Day: Saturday, January 18, 2020

The Words for Today (Saturday) are Overview and Perspective.  Together, these make up the  "Big Picture View"  of Reality, and are important in, both Guidance and Mentorship situations.  Another way of looking at these two Words, are that they make up the  "Executive Summary of Reality".

Word for the Day: Friday, January 17, 2020

The Word for Today (Friday) is Reflection.  There are two, main meanings of this word:  What you see in a Mirror, or  "Deep Review".  The Second one has more to do with our Theme, as we Reflect on Guidance we receive, whether from a Mentor or anyone else.

Thursday, January 16, 2020

Word for the Day: Thursday, January 16, 2020

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Study.  Guidance and Mentoring are, both a big help, in the Study of, just about any topic you can think of.  And this is, definitely  *not*  limited to Topics that make up College Majors or Minors.  So What are you interested in Today?

Word for the Day: Wednesday, January 15, 2020

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Absorption.  Do we Absorb our Families?  Or are we Absorbed  *BY*  our Families?  (Perhaps a little of both?)  One way to look at this, is that Domestic  "Affairs" (sometimes quite literally)  can be  *quite* Absorbing.  Just something to keep in mind.

Word for the Day: Tuesday, January 14, 2020

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Review.  Domestic Review?  [or]  Review of what it is, to be Domestic?  (Both?)  This reminds me of something that did  *not*  occur in my own Upbringing, but was found, when I was an overnight guest at the Family Home of a good Friend:  They had a nightly Family  Pow-Wow,  which simply means a Family Conference Gathering, where they went over what occurred with all members of the Family (i.e. two of the three children went to School that day and told of that experience. The third was home sick).  This was better than those Office Meetings I recall.  Try it!

Word for the Day: Monday, January 13, 2020

The Word for Today (Monday) is Experimentation.  Experimental Guidance?  (Wow!  130,000,000 Google Hits!)  [or]  Mentorship in Experiments?  (Certainly useful in School Lab Settings).  Since, in my Opinion, all of Life is Experimental, let's go with the first one.

Sunday, January 12, 2020

Word for the Day: Sunday, January 12, 2020

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Recognition.  And this can work in two Directions:  Recognize those who Guide us  (whether as a Mentor or not).  But also Recognize those, that we are able to Mentor, in our day-to-day lives.  And Recognize ways of having fun.

Weekly Themes: Week of January 12-18, 2020

The Themes for this Week are Guidance and Mentor.  Mentors give Guidance, but you can get Guidance (i.e. "advice or information aimed at resolving a problem or difficulty") from people, other than Mentors.  And here's what Google says about Mentor:  "an experienced and trusted adviser".  So Advice, more or less shows up in both Definitions.  Finally, this goes in both directions:  You can Mentor some people on one topic, while being Mentored by others on other topics.

Saturday, January 11, 2020

Word for the Day: Saturday, January 11, 2020

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Resolve.  Domestic Resolutions?  (Probably.  But Resolutions are, certainly not  *limited*  to Domestic Situations, just like they are not limited to the New Year).  Perhaps, more tied to Domestic Situations is  "keeping your Resolve".  That's also important.

Friday, January 10, 2020

Word for the Day: Thursday, January 10, 2020

The Word for Today (Friday) is Courage.  Courage in Domestic Situations?  Yes, but note how often this Courage is the  "Courage to say 'No'".  In other words, say  "No" to Domestic Violence.  Say  "No" to neglect of Children or Pets.  Say  "No" to breakdown of Communications.  You get the Picture.

Thursday, January 9, 2020

Words for the Day: Thursday, January 9, 2020

The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment.  Do you know your own Strength?  Do you feel Empowered?  Now ask those two questions, adding "...in Domestic Situations".  Does it change the answers?  If not, more  "Power"  to you!  But if so, you are  *not*  alone.  Good luck!

Wednesday, January 8, 2020

Word for the Day: Wednesday, January 8, 2020

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence.  Competence in a Domestic Setting?  We certainly strive for this, but don't always find it.  (How many times, on the News, have you seen or heard accounts of Families that were, I'm sorry to say, Badly Run?)  The problem?  We learn to be Parents from our own, when growing up.  So, if you had Competent Parents, you have a good chance of being one yourself.  Unfortunately, the reverse also applies.  Once again, good luck!

Tuesday, January 7, 2020

Word for the Day: Tuesday, January 7, 2020

The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance.  The connection with our Theme can be problematical, if the Domestic Situation is  "less than ideal".  But, as our Word, it also means that things having to do with our Theme and Word are easier to see, than might be true, at other times.  So it works both ways.

Monday, January 6, 2020

Word for the Day: Monday, January 6, 2020

The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility.  Now, this fits perfectly with our Theme, as Fertility, as it is usually understood, is  *definitely*  a Domestic action.  But, as I stated, there are other connotations to Fertility, such as a Fertile Imagination.  Just something to think about.

Sunday, January 5, 2020

Word for the Day: Sunday, January 5, 2020

The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability.  Stable Domestic Situation?  (Usually the best kind!)  I don't think there's much more to say today.

Weekly Theme: Week of January 5-11, 2020

The Theme for this Week is Domestication.  What does it mean to be Domesticated?  If an Animal, it appears to mean, able to Coexist with Humans, say, in a House or Farm.  But what does it mean to be a Domesticated Human Being?  Google gives 27.9 million hits on that Search, including an article by ScienceDaily, titled, "Did Humans Domesticate Themselves?"  Well, did we?  (I'm certainly going to read this Article!)  Anyway, this looks to be, quite an interesting Week.

Saturday, January 4, 2020

Word for the Day: Saturday, January 4 2020

The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release.  Healthy Release?  (Why not?)  But one thing I've said before:  If you feel Stuck in Life, look around you:  You might find a "Release Lever",  right there in the Reality Scene.  And use your Imagination:  It could look like anything!

Friday, January 3, 2020

Word for the Day: Friday, January 3, 2020

The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration.  Health?  Well, once again, there are Medical meanings for this Word  (i.e.  "Let us Aspirate that Fluid from your Thoracic Cavity".  And if you don't already know what I mean, you probably don't want to).  But there's a  *much*  better connection to our Theme, Health:  Aspire to be as Healthy as you possibly can.

Thursday, January 2, 2020

Word for the Day: Thursday, January 2, 2020

The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast.  Contrast in Health?  (Indeed:  There are Medical Connotations, such as Contrast Solutions, used in some Medical Tests).  But there are other types of Contrast, where Health in concerned, such as accepting a certain range of Bodily Sensations, as you go through life.  For example, I am of the opinion, that it is normal, to feel uncomfortable, at least briefly, during sudden Weather Changes  --  Especially changes in Air Pressure.

Wednesday, January 1, 2020

Word for the Day: Wednesday, January 1, 2020

The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptability.  Adapting to your Health state?  Well, that's what it's all about, for how you feel often influences what you do.  Another good reason for staying healthy.
