Words for the Day: Thursday, December 31, 2015
The Words for Today (Thursday) are Strength and Empowerment. Like some of the Words last week, these can be used as "Life Tools": Just "look" for your Strength, wherever you are, so that you can "feel" Empowered. And to bring our Theme in, don't Sacrifice your Strength and/or Empowerment, of course. However, if there are addictions (or other habitual behaviors) that weaken you, THAT is what you sacrifice!

Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 30, 2015
The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Competence. Sacrificing our Competence? I don't THINK so! But sacrificing habits, that might get in the way of competence? Yes. And can a person be competent to sacrifice certain things, in his/her life, while still being able to live well? In my opinion, Yes! I've done it multiple times in my life, like sacrificing playing String Bass in amateur orchestras (in 1983), so I could concentrate on my Computer career. (It hurt, but I compensated, by listening to classical music CDs, while following along with full Orchestra scores).

Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 29, 2015
The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Endurance. Once again, do we sacrifice Endurance? Or how about enduring, when we need to make sacrifices? How about sacrificing things that stand in the way of endurance (such as being weak and overweight, eating an unfortunate diet? By the way, lots of people use "Fitness Centers", to develop Endurance. Let me add Yoga to that.

Word for the Day: Monday, December 28, 2015
The Word for Today (Monday) is Fertility. Sacrificing fertility? Or (in at least one earlier civilization), being sacrificed to the Fertility God? And then I know some (in both genders) who sacrifice their career, to raise a family. And, back to the first question I asked, sacrificing their family, to concentrate on an awesome career.

Word for the Day: Sunday, December 27, 2015
The Word for Today (Sunday) is Stability. So does this combination (with our Theme), mean that we need to sacrifice stability in our lives? I hope not, unless it's a temporary arrangement, in a transition to something better. But another combination would be to use a stable environment, to be able to sacrifice something in our lives, that might be holding us back such as, for example, sacrificing food we like, but that doesn't work well with our body. The stable environment, in that case, might allow for the experimentation, that can find the food that DOES work.
Weekly Theme: Week of December 27 through January 2, 2016
The Theme for this Week is Sacrifice. This is a topic, in the news, where some people, say after an untimely job loss, have very little resources to live on. The sacrifice comes up, when they must choose where to allocate those resources. For example, do they pay rent (or mortgage), to keep their home, or feed themselves (and, often family members)? Do they pay for health care, or eat? You get the picture.

Word for the Day: Saturday, December 26, 2015
The Word for Today (Saturday) is Release. This is a Life Tool, for when you feel stuck in a situation. All you need to do, is to find the Release Lever. Use your imagination, because it might not immediately look like a lever. Please note that it often helps to set an intention, when you use it, so that you are released into a situation that you want.

Word for the Day: Friday, December 25, 2015
The Word for Today (Friday) is Aspiration. The tie-in with our Theme would look something like, "I aspire to be the best Prophet I can". Actually, aspiration has a number of meanings, some of them medical. But my favorite has to do with "reaching for the top", or "competing to be my personal best".
Thursday, December 24, 2015
Word for the Day: Thursday, December 24, 2015
The Word for Today (Thursday) is Contrast. This marks the second Life Tool for this week, the "Contrast Knob". So where might you find this? Look around your environment and use your imagination. It might not even look like a "knob", but that's my personal symbolism, since I've been using Television sets, since playing with the ones my Parents had. Like with a TV set, there's an ideal contrast, that looks and feels the best. Too little, and your life might feel boring, yet too much, and things might get downright frightening. Good luck!

Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 23, 2015
The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Adaptable (or Flexibility). How would I define an adaptable, or flexible prophet? For one thing, I would expect him or her to evaluate any information, he or she has received, before distributing it. (Because, for one, I've found, in my own life, that distortions can exist, no matter where you THINK your information comes from). And what about Inflexible Prophets? Take a look at some of our well-known Cult Leaders, and realize many of them thought of themselves as prophets.

Words for the Day: Tuesday, December 22, 2015
The Words for Today (Tuesday) are Agility and Grace. These are traits, that will come in handy, to intelligently use the "life tools", for this week. They are also traits, that go well with our Theme (Prophesy). And how would one develop (and/or expand) these two traits? I recommend Yoga. Good luck!
Monday, December 21, 2015
Word for the Day: Monday, December 21, 2015
The Word for Today (Monday) is Acceleration. Note that this is the first, of three "life tools" you get this week: An Acceleration Pedal. Use it wisely, and it will serve you well. And be selective of what you accelerate, and how much. Because there can be costly man made rules, regulating how much acceleration you, conveyances you are in, or objects that you own, can lawfully achieve, before you might be "in trouble".

Words for the Day: Sunday, December 20, 2015
The Words for Today (Sunday) are Patience and Tolerance, both of which help in the development, as well as continuation of the gift of Prophecy.
Weekly Theme: Week of December 20-26, 2015
The Theme for this Week is Prophecy. Since a Prophecy, according to Google, is simply a prediction, you can have quite a variety of prophets, including non-human ones. (Yes, in many locations, a Groundhog is used to predict, either a long winter, or an early spring). Wikipedia has a pretty good article, on our Theme.
Saturday, December 19, 2015
Word for the Day: Saturday, December 19, 2015
The Word for Today (Saturday) is Acknowledgement. There's a lot to acknowledge these days, including people who help others, who live with disabilities. Also people WITH disabilities, who still make waves, the way they live. (One famous example is Stephen Hawking).
Friday, December 18, 2015
Word for the Day: Friday, December 18, 2015
The Word for Today (Friday) is Kindness. We need kindness towards everyone, as it helps the world go around. That said, save a special helping for those you know, who live with disabilities. Thank you!
Thursday, December 17, 2015
Word for the Day: Thursday, December 17, 2015
The Word for Today (Thursday) is Encouragement. And I most DEFINITELY encourage generosity and kindness towards those who live with disabilities. But then again, I encourage good behavior towards anybody.
Wednesday, December 16, 2015
Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 16, 2015
The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Thoughtfulness. The easiest way to understand this Word is to break it down: "Full of Thought", which I interpret as thinking, before speaking and/or acting. It doesn't necessarily mean to never accomplish anything, because you're spending all your time "thinking". But a little thought goes a long way, towards keeping yourself out of trouble. How does this tie into Disability, our Theme? Many ways, as some have disabilities, making thinking difficult. In other cases, it can be a good touch, to be especially thoughtful towards those you know, who live with disabilities.
Tuesday, December 15, 2015
Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 15, 2015
The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Support. We all need support. But you can imagine how much people with disabilities need support. One thing about support groups, that some overlook: Support works in both directions, and those, supporting you need support at times, also.
Monday, December 14, 2015
Word for the Day: Monday, December 14, 2015
The Word for Today (Monday) is Comfort. Being comfortable can be a challenge for anybody. But some forms of disability can make it quite difficult. Keep that in mind, if you're in a position to help.
Sunday, December 13, 2015
Word for the Day: Sunday, December 13, 2015
The Word for Today (Sunday) is Nourishment. Good, delicious nourishment is healthy for anybody. But definitely, it can be a step towards healing, for a person, suffering from a disability, whether temporary or permanent.
Weekly Theme: Week of December 13-19, 2015
The Theme for this Week is Disability. So what does it mean to be disabled? Disabled compared to what? As an example, let's take the ability to walk and/or run. A professional sprint runner has one level of ability. A "normal" person "should" [strange word] be able to, at least walk, but usually run, for limited periods of time. A person with trouble breathing might be able to slowly walk, but needing to frequently rest. And then, if your legs "aren't working" [for any number of reasons], you might need a wheelchair, to propel yourself. So even, with one single example, this can be a complex situation. But see, compared to the professional sprint runner, I would absolutely feel disabled.
Saturday, December 12, 2015
Word for the Day: Saturday, December 12, 2015
The Word for Today (Saturday) is Prosperity. Hopefully, Diplomacy pays good enough to become prosperous. When done correctly, it can help foster peace on Earth. What could be better?
Friday, December 11, 2015
Word for the Day: Friday, December 11, 2015
The Word for Today (Friday) is Liberation. Now, in NO way, am I suggesting that we "liberate ourselves from Diplomacy", ESPECIALLY if the main alternative is War. However, careful Diplomacy CAN liberate countries from wars, even occasionally long term ones.
Thursday, December 10, 2015
Word for the Day: Thursday, December 10, 2015
The Word for Today is Wisdom. And what is the best kind of Diplomacy for our world right now? How about the kind, provided by wise diplomats? :-)
How do you develop wisdom, by the way? Reading the "right books" helps, of course, but I firmly believe that life experience comes first.
How do you develop wisdom, by the way? Reading the "right books" helps, of course, but I firmly believe that life experience comes first.
Wednesday, December 9, 2015
Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 9, 2015
The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Impartiality. Impartial Diplomacy? It better get, at least close to that, or the intending diplomat starts taking sides, which can get sticky, at best.
Tuesday, December 8, 2015
Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 8, 2015
The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Consequence. I'll be the first to admit that there are consequences, for acts of Diplomacy. However, I would like to point out that there are also consequences, possibly more dire, for LACK of diplomacy.
Monday, December 7, 2015
Word for the Day: Monday, December 7, 2015
The Word for Today (Monday) is Elimination. First off, this is NOT to mean: "eliminate diplomacy". But there are lots of things (like war) that get in the way of diplomacy. THOSE can be eliminated.
Sunday, December 6, 2015
Word for the Day: Sunday, December 6, 2015
The Word for Today (Sunday) is Self-Reliance. And anybody, wishing to enter the Diplomacy field needs to be prepared to act, without much backup, sort of like being a "field operative". And, if you are still struggling, to determine what to do with your life, I recommend, at least considering, the Diplomacy field.
Weekly Theme: Week of December 6-12, 2015
The Theme for this Week is Diplomacy. It would be pure serendipity that this Theme came up right now, if it weren't such unpleasant news items that go with it. War? Terrorism? Endless bickering? That's where Diplomacy comes in. And, by the way, I would like to focus on the second definition that "Google diplomacy" gave me: "The art of dealing with people in a sensitive and effective way". I believe that says it all.
Saturday, December 5, 2015
Word for the Day: Saturday, December 5, 2015
The Word for Today (Saturday) is Expansion. Expanded dialogue? Expanded Intercourse? (Of course, if Intercourse is "just" a form of communication? With the "usual" connotation, it's communication, with a "very rich" form of "body language". It took, until the end of the week, for me to actually begin to enjoy, talking about one of the two Themes).
Friday, December 4, 2015
Words for the Day: Friday, December 4, 2015
The Words for Today (Friday) are Trust and Faith. So how well do you trust, in the people you are having a conversation with? There are some levels of trust, that can make sense, like trusting that the person, at least believes what they are saying (until proven otherwise). But making decisions, based on what someone you don't know tells you, can backfire. As for faith, have faith in your own ability to communicate with those around you, and you're likely to do better.
Thursday, December 3, 2015
Word for the Day: Thursday, December 3, 2015
The Word for Today (Thursday) is Gratitude. That needs to be part of any Conversation, but even MORE, with the "special" types of conversation, meant, or connotated, by the word, "Intercourse". Because, especially with the sexual variety of that word, showing gratitude and, especially, being there, with the other party, could make the difference between a sweet, loving encounter, and a disaster.
Wednesday, December 2, 2015
Word for the Day: Wednesday, December 2, 2015
The Word for Today (Wednesday) is Equality. And, no matter what sort of "conversation" you have, with another, it's best, in my opinion, for the people to approach that conversation, in an equal way. But this Word goes by itself pretty well also, as I see a huge difference, between the concept of Equal Opportunity, verses "Conformity".
Tuesday, December 1, 2015
Word for the Day: Tuesday, December 1, 2015
The Word for Today (Tuesday) is Prudence. This goes well, with our Themes (Intercourse and Dialogue). Prudent dialogue is easy: Just keep it real, practical, and [my editorializing] family friendly. But the other part of our Theme has some fascinating connotations, even though "social intercourse", is presented, by the Free Dictionary as, simply, "communication between individuals". I'll leave the rest to your imagination. :-)
